Alyda Sorm, Jessica Mannard, Sam Hubbard, Emilio Anselmo, Chris Hanley Andrew Denny, MedAir is a unique, corporately funded company, dedicated to using hovercraft technology to more efficiently rescue lives in Seattle, Washington and improve response time to faster reach the emergency. In 1980, a major car crash resulted in a fire in downtown Seattle. Many kids, including Emilio Anselmo, were trapped inside the burning cars. Traffic slowed down, and emergency vehicles rushed to the scene. However the traffic jam blocked the truck’s access to the fire, and the fire became untamable. Many of the kids died but Emillio lived. Emillio in his late teens decided to build a vehicle that improves emergency vehicle efficiency. He started on a design and then made a prototype in his garage. Next, he came up with the idea to make a private company with his prototype at the center. After Emilio became interested in improving the problem in Seattle he shared his idea with the public. Founded in 2007, MedAir dedicating the company to all children in Seattle who have perished because of poor response time of the emergency vehicles necessary to save their lives. He gave his step sister, Alyda the lead to represent the company, and together they successfully started the company MedAir.
