EOPS Mission
EOPS is a state-funded student service
program that promotes academic
excellence among students from lowincome, underrepresented
backgrounds in higher education.

The following policies outline
what EOPS expects of you
and what you can expect of
EOPS when engaging its
services.
Appealing for readmission
Policy
Students dismissed from EOPS due to back-toback semesters of non-compliance may submit
a written request for readmission. (No second
or status downgrades appeals.)
Procedure
 Review appeals process with EOPS staff
 Complete 6 units with term GPA of 2.0 or better
semester before appealing
 Submit written appeal with supporting documents
 Submit EOPS application
Using book vouchers (paperless)
Policy
1. Only for LMC Bookstore
2. For one-time use
3. Expires 14 days after disbursed
4. Only textbook purchases or loans
Procedure
• Present ID and printed class schedule to LMC
Bookstore
• Return to bookstore for books out of stock when
purchasing– bookstore re-opens voucher
Books purchased are your property
Engaging counseling services
Policy
1. No children allowed (District policy)
2. No-show, cancel, and/or rescheduled
appointments will not be guaranteed make-up
3. No drop-ins
4. After 10 minutes, no admittance
Procedure
• Schedule appointments in person/on-line
• EOPS sends appointment reminder

All three (3) required counseling contacts to be
completed with an EOPS counselor or EOPS

Academic Progress Report (APR)
Policy
1. Student must meet with ALL instructors during
office hours to obtain instructor feedback for
ALL enrolled classes. Must obtain feedback
from ALL instructors.
2. Must show comments– letter/% grade optional.
Procedure
• Download APR at EOPS website (forms tab)
• Make appointment with instructor
• Submit APR to EOPS Office by October 2,
2015, 1:00pm
Requesting a nine (9) unit waiver
Policy
1. Continuing students successfully completing
(2.0 or better) 12 units may take 9.0-11.9 units in
2. following semester
3. <12 unit semesters cannot be back-to-back
4. <12 unit semester limit – 2 semesters life-time
tenure in program
Procedure/Example
 SP’16– completes 12 units w/ 2.0 GPA, FA ’16
completed 10 units with 2.0 or better term GPA
 Submits no waiver for FA ‘16
 Meets counselor in FA‘16 to revise Ed Plan
 Waiver approval required for all other students
Note: financial aid status may be impacted due to non-full-time enrollment
Discontinuing EOPS partnership
1. Voluntarily withdraw
2. Earn 70 degree-applicable units
3. Complete 6 consecutive semesters
(summers excluded)
4. Dishonor MRC two (2) consecutive
semesters
Re-establishing positive academic

Policy
Students earning Ds or Fs at APR deadline
must meet with EOPS counselor or staff no
later than two weeks after the APR deadline
to devise a strategic plan

counselor/staff, at least, 2 days before
semester drop deadline
Requesting a time/unit limit waiver
Policy
Full-service students with high unit CCCCO
approved “high unit majors” may petition to
extend eligibility for EOPS services up to 2
semesters beyond 70 degree-applicable unit/6
semester limit.
