Waiting on translation & update Liaise with SBS on translated version of Simultaneous Storytelling title 'Brothers Quibble.' Multicultural Storytelling Anne P to source Chinese translation. Completed list to be sent what non English Magazines are currently purchased in various libraries. Tomorrow's Libraries: Impact on Current Committees -2- ASAP Open Open PLS role in future on CL Committees is one of policy & procurement (cataloguing, stock delivery, invoicing) 4. Report on partnership with Migrant Resource Centre Mirsia not present to report. 5. Report on partnership with Ethnic Schools Board Good response to One Card system, PressDisplay and list of shared languages. Welcomed visual aspect of system so multicultural Language map would be good. Ethnic Schools Board will be merging with Multicultural Education Centre mid year. Hanna Jasinska will attend the next meeting, June 4 with Chris 6. Community Language Cataloguing Realia kits created from the collections of the now closed Aboriginal, Multicultural, Languages & Learning Resource Centre. Burnside have completed cataloguing of the Japanese kits. West Torrens have completed cataloguing of the Indian and the Chinese kits. These are available for displays and are searchable on the catalogue. Contact the owning library direct. Feedback to agencies: Charles Sturt report a good turnaround time & cost from CAVAL. Approx. $8/DVD cataloguing cost Trial project to catalogue & RFID tag DVDs. Any problems with cataloguing - please let Chris K know 7. Community Language Stock Sharing Update Burnside would like to establish new collections in Hindi & Sinhalese and are looking for any extra stock. Stock Swaps - Only include a language if you have enough to spare, ie a box and still able to maintain a viable collection To send an email request just to the Community Language Group rather than an askplsa hit Reply All on a previous email from Chris K regarding CL business. Multicultural Language List available on PLSA Intranet. Chris K will update information. 8. Community Language Reports Di Cranwelll is happy to help with these if needed. -3- 9. CL orders and purchasing for 2014-15 On track, just a matter of ensuring all funds spent. $5k on Community Language CDs; Greek, Italian, French, Chinese, Korean, Polish, Vietnamese, Japanese. a. Unallocated funds used for additional stock ordered in Serbian and Croatian, Dutch large print, Italian Mills and Boon b. Additional funds originally designated for potential online resources has been spent on Tagalog resources, top up Arabic and Top up Russian. 10. Working Party preparing orders for 2016 Usual suspects - Tina, Joy, Caroline, Shirley, Katharine, Chris, Wendy/Pauline. Anyone else? 11. Other Business Cultural Awareness training booked for April 28 & 29. Please promote and provide feedback for convenor to customise our course.
