1 Karadeniz Technical University Continuing Education Center has been established to organize Karadeniz Technical University’s continuing education programs, to contribute to the development of university’s co-operation with the public and private sector and international organizations and to serve the development of our country. 2 The Continuing Education Center aspires to become a center of excellence in providing quality education and training in a variety of fields to a diverse population of learners in Trabzon and the nearby area. 3 The mission of the Continuing Education Center (CEC) is to meet the lifelong educational and training needs of all learners in the local community and the region. Harnessing KTU resources in various fields of knowledge, CEC offers a variety of standard and customized certificate programs, non-credit courses, and workshops in Trabzon and the region. CEC aims to enhance professional and technical skills while addressing the needs for personal development and cultural enrichment. 4 Regulations of the CEC published in the Official Gazette, with the number of 25146 and the date 22.06.2003 and entered into force but the establishment of the Admisinistrative Structure of the Center and going into action date is January, 2010. 5 To keep the graduates’ informations up to date, To ensure a educational environment to anyone who wants to learn, To organize training programs based on the demands of each institution, To contribute to the reduction of the educational gaps between the regions, To contribute to the personal education , while diploma alone is not sufficient at the present time, To strengthen the relationship between the university and the city, To promote Lifelong Learning in accordance with the goal of the Bologna Process, which is involved in the Karadeniz Technical University’s strategic plan, To contribute to the Institution, Internal Control Standards Action Plan 6 RECTOR’S OFFICE CEC DIRECTOR CEC GOVENER BOARD (Each Faculty is represent by a member) CEC DEPUTY DIRECTORS OFFICE PERSONS 7 Karadeniz Technical University Continuing Education Center is a member of Turkey CEC Association that has 87 members and KTU CEC is one of the an active participant in the CECs’ accreditation works. KTU-CEC is a member of TUCEC. 8 9 10 Vocational and Personal Development Courses Within these programmes, which are the follow up of four-year bachelor's degree, our graduates can be able to keep their informations up to date and be informed about the any updates. Information Technologies Courses It is aimed to ensure the individuals use the computers at work actively and participants, who has special interest, improve themselves in webdesigning 11 Foreign Languages These programmes are created with the academic substructure on the purpose of improving the individuals’ knowledge of foreign language and contributing to the advancement of institutions with the career oriented programmes in the globalising world. In-Service Educations These training programs are organized for the academic and administrative staff and they are held on the purpose of improving the staffs’ abilities within the needed area or completing the lacking aspects of the staffs. 12 Corporate Trainings These trainings are organized to strengthen our university’s relations with the other institutions and on the purpose of providing scientific support to them, based on the demands of each institution. Health - Culture - Arts - Sports These programs are based on the purpose of improving individuals’ abilities in the fields of culture, art and sport or contributing them to gain new skills in any fields they desire.
