Abstract
The problem of pricking to human’s body that is difference for each parts of body. There are
biologically difference between the male and the female. The purpose of this experiment displays,
when we prick the arms (right and left) through two pens to closely, we do not realized two pains,
only felt one pain. In our body, somebody or something hit you to similar place, the body responds
immediately. For this experiment, I try to prick my classmates their right and left arms to measure the
distance. In addition, there is another difference between in left and right arms and between males and
females. However, there are some variables in this experiment. The result can difference if I try same
people to prick again and again or changed the experiment environment. Limitations of the research
include a lack of subject experiment on this data.
1.0 Introduction
Generally, the male and female are difference when something is occurred sudden situations. Through
pricking the parts of body, it hopes to another reaction for both the male and female. As try to pricking
the left and right arms with classmates, the problems will be exactly solve it. There is various sense of
touch in body. Among them, pain points exist in skin. Human realized various pains anyway in our
body. I want to know when you know only one pain if I prick an arm through two pens. Therefore, my
hypothesis is that if I prick human’s arms with two pens, then the female person will be not realize
two pains, only felt one pain more than male when distance is closely.
2.0 Research Methodology
Five male students and 4 female students were tested in class by pricking left and right arms with two
pens. Two pieces of pens were used this experiment and observe the response and measure the
distance when students realize one pain and then compared. And then explain the data collection
method and how it connects with research. In this experiment need two similar pens, people’s left and

right arm, and ruler. The data was collected into tables and charts for analysis. This methodology
enabled decision of which parts of arms area are more sensitively.
3.0 Research Results
The hypothesis, the female is more sensitively than the male, was correct. To see table 1 data findings,
it shows that the distance is far, the male suddenly responded the only pain. The graph in Figure 1
illustrates when the male realize the one pain that two pens were closely. The Figure 1 is converting to
table 1. In addition, the graph in Figure 1 displays left arm and right arm both two lines are similar. To
see table 2 data findings, it is opposite to table 1. The subtraction of gap is big. In Figure 2, for
experiment subjects of data regularly reduced.

Average of Right Arm
Both graphs show the average of left and right arms responding. Among them, males know the pain
quickly, when the distance is far, but females feel the pain slowly, when the distance is nearly.
Therefore, if the pens prick closely, females realize until much later.

4.0 Discussion
According to Bishop, in human’s skin have a lot of sense of touch. Among them, the range of pain
spots is whole arms from shoulder to hand. Arms are distributed many pain spots. However, there are
difference pain spots between the male and female through this experiment.
The female is correct my hypothesis. There is a clear data between left and right arms to females.
Females’ arm length is normally about 25cm. They are sensitivity less than males. In case of left arm,
the average is 6.8cm, and another right arm of average is 5.8cm. The closely distance is left arm about
5cm and right arm about 3cm.
However, the male is incorrect my hypothesis. The average of male’s arm length is about 30cm. For
males, they immediately respond when pens were pricked their arms. Among them, most of males
realized when the distance is far. Their average of left arm is 16.3cm, and right arm is 15.2cm. Those
are two times of male more than female’s data. It shows that the male has a lot of pain spots more than
the female because of male’s reaction was too fast.
There are always exceptions in the experiments. In table 1 and 2, one of the male and female are
specific common point. For male, subject 3 has not sensitivity. It looks like female results. His
distances were 4cm and 3cm to each left and right arms.
5.0 Conclusions and Recommendations
To sum up, there were difference between males and females. As a result, the male has many pain
spots than female. Therefore, male is more sensitivity when something is hit them.
If same classmates try again 10 times, the result will be different than before experiment. Also, the
temperature or environment are another situation, the hypothesis is incorrect. Moreover, change the
pricking materials pens to something, it also occur difference data.
