TONGUE TWISTER DATE: 21/4 , 22/4 TIME: 8-9.30pm PARTICIPATION: Individual VENUE: DSG Corridor PRIZES: 5-11Points--- GREEN BOX: Cadbury Chocolate, Sweets, Keropok (RM10) 12-15Points-- RED BOX: stationeries - pens, highlighter (RM20) 16-17Points--YELLOW BOX: Notebooks & Mugs (RM20) >18 Points--- PURPLE BOX: Thumb drive 8GB (RM40) * A list of tongue twisters, point “tokens”, gifts and 4 boxes of the colour stated above has to be prepared AJK Job scope: - Reconfirm registration of individuals - Organize the group of individuals competing - Distribute the tongue twisters to participants - Timekeepers - Aid in prize claiming DETAILS: Registration - The event will be promoted through Facebook, flyers and announcements - Registration will be open prior to the event. - On-the-spot registration if not many entrees Tongue Twister- A group of about 5-8 people will compete against each other - 4 rounds per group (A four-lined tongue twister will be given and the number of lines that has to be read increases with the rounds) - Points obtained will be given in the form of a piece of paper (Point “token”) with an official chop, each piece =1 point - Individuals can exchange their collected points for gifts - Individuals will receive whichever gift is stated on the paper drawn from the different coloured boxes Point Distribution: 0 marks- Can’t read the tongue twisters within the time limit 2 marks- Able to read the tongue twisters within the time limit but not very clearly 3 marks- Able to read the tongue twisters within the time limit clearly 2. RIDDLES DATE: 26/3 , 2/4, 9/4, 16/4 EVERY WEDNESDAY TIME: 8.30pm PARTICIPATION: Individual VENUE: FACEBOOK VOICES OF UKMKL GROUP PRIZES: 18 Key chains (RM10) DETAILS: - A time limit (Variable depending on response) will be given to answer the riddle. - The first 4-5 individuals to answer correctly will receive the prize - The names of the winners will be announced in the group -Winners will be contacted through Facebook to claim prizes 3. CROSSWORD HUNT DATE:20/4 TIME: 9am-11am VENUE: Within KTSN Compound NUMBER OF GROUPS: 9 (5 participants in each group) - Participants are required to pre-register about a week prior to the event. Time limit at each station: 10 minutes (max.) There will be 10 stations located at various places around ktsn and after each team completes the designated task at each station they will be handed a clue, which will be used to complete the crossword at the end of the hunt. At the beginning of the hunt, each group will be given clues (directions) as to which station they are required to go to. STATION DETAILS: STATION 1 (Word Cheer) Participants will be given a word and asked to create a cheer using that word. A clue shall be awarded depending on the creativity and spirit shown by the group. VENUE: Toh Puan STATION 2 (Mysterious Melody) Bits of a song will be played and participants will have to guess the name of that song. 5 different songs will be played and participants will have to guess the names at least 3 out of 5 songs in order to receive the next clue. If they fail the clue will not be awarded. VENUE: DSG * Speakers and a laptop will be required for this station. STATION 3 (Planes of Glory) Participants are required to make 5 paper airplanes. Using those airplanes, they have to try to throw them into a basket located 2 meters away. 3 out 5 planes are required to enter the basket in order to receive the next clue. VENUE: DSG *Old newspapers and a basket are required for this station. STATION 4 (House of Cards) Participants are required to build a house of cards at least 3 levels high in order to pass and receive their next clue. VENUE: K-Shop *A deck of UNO cards is required for this station. STATION 5 (Word Creator) Participants will be given a word and from that word form various other words using the letters in the given word. A total of at least 7 words are required in order to pass and receive the next clue. VENUE: DSG *A4 paper and pencils are required at this station. STATION 6 (Charades) One participant from each group will be given 5 words and he or she will have to act it out for the other members of the group to guess it. A time limit of 1 minute will be given and members of the group must be able to guess 3 out of 5 words given. After 1 minute, the next member in the group will have to act out another 5 words and this is repeated for the remaining 3 members. All 5 members must act. At least 3 out of 5 members must be able to achieve a score of at least 3 out of 5 words guessed in order to receive the next clue. VENUE: Beside the library STATION 7 (Maze of Fortune) One participant from the group will be blindfolded and will be directed through a maze of tables and chairs to get to the opposite side. He or she must reach across without touching any of the tables or chairs. If the participant does touch a table or chair, he or she will have to return to the starting line and start again. A clue is awarded once the task is completed. VENUE: DSG *Tables and chairs will be required. STATION 8 (Q & A) Participants will be asked questions on various topics related to poems, riddles, general IQ and others. They must be able to answer at least 7 questions in order to receive the next clue. VENUE: DSG Foyer STATION 9 (Recycled Bowling) Each participant in a group must bowl and knock down at least 8 out of 10 bottles in order to receive their next clue. The bowling ball is made of old newspapers. VENUE: Badminton court behind the girls block *10 1.5L bottles and old newspapers are required at this station. - At the start of the hunt each group will be given a list of nicknames of those of us that will be taking care of the stations. The participants have to guess and match the correct nickname with the facilitator that will be at each station in order to receive their final clue. Once each group has collected the clues from each station they will have to answer the crossword puzzle. Prizes will be given to the groups that solve the puzzle in the fastest time and correctly. First 3 groups will be awarded. WORD SEARCH Date:19/4 Time: 11.30am-11.45am(11.15am registration) PARTICIPATION: Individual Pre-registration of participants is required. The participant that is able to find the most number of words in the shortest time possible wins. The time limit set is for 10 minutes. * A4 papers and pencils are required. VENUE: DSG PRIZES 1st: Earphones/ headset 2nd:Hard cover notebooks 3rd:Chocolates 5. SPELLING BEE Date:19/4 Time: 12pm to 1pm(registration at 11.45am) Participation: Individual Pre-registration of participants is required. Number of rounds will depend on the number of participants, preferably around 10 to 15 participants. The level of each round will be more difficult than the round before it. Participants are allowed to ask for the meaning of the word if they are not sure of the word. 5 participants will make to the final round and only the top 3 will be awarded with prizes.
