A course on Dr. Jose Rizal’s life, works, writings, thoughts, and philosophies which aims to promote an in-depth and sensitive awareness of
Rizal’s contributions to the formation of national consciousness. The course include the socio-political situation of the Philippines during
Rizal’s time and its significance to our present time.
Course Intended Learning
Outcomes (CILO)
After completing this course, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO
1. Discuss RA 1425 and other rules/criteria pertinent to the course;
2. Explain the relevance of Rizal’s life, works, and writings; how it affects the current educational and social conditions;
3. Cite evidences in the local and international conditions in the 19th century that contributed in making and shaping Rizal’s heroic
character;
4. Conduct various activities showing the qualities and character traits of Rizal in relation to other great men and women;
5. Draw conclusions from the political, socio-cultural, economic and religious insights that can be deduced from the travels of Rizal and
the benefits it brought to the Philippines and the Filipino people;
6. Apply the thoughts, teachings, and philosophies of Rizal in examining issues of the 21 st century.
