My SEO Techniques
• I don’t do everything right – I never do web 2.0,
social bookmarking, etc
• Homepage and internal article pages – I try for at
least 50-60% linking to internal pages.
• My process for turning newsletters to content pages,
articles directories, blog entries, etc. (change dupe
content)
• New page – keywords in title bar, url extension, alt
text of images, scattered on page… then build links
back to that page with keyword-rich anchor text, but
varied anchor text for natural linking pattern. Google
wants natural -- anything that seems artificially-done
will not help.
SEO Techniques continued
• Don’t repeat title bar words – e.g. drugs, best drugs,
good drugs…
• Use synonyms to vary anchor text and on-page
optimization (natural)

• SEO that feeds itself from your newsletter subscribers
(send them links to internal article pages and
encourage them to link to it if they enjoy)
• I don’t agree with SEO experts – I rank 1st pg on google
for 100’s of keywords for my homepage, instead of
focusing on only a couple keywords.

Split testing:
• Constantly split testing something – most important
thing any website can do
• 100 sales, 500 sales, 1500 sales, etc – small split test
results mean nothing…most websites make their
decisions WAY too early
• Opt-in removal – 50% conversion increase (tough call)
• Offer “Try it first, pay later” trial vs going for full sale right
away (plus exit chat trial) – 20.3% increase!
• Guarantee certificate instead of just text – 11% incr
• Blue headlines & subheads vs Red – 15.1% decrease over
an 1100 sale split test… Blue bombed! (does gutter color
matter in relation to headlines?)
• Men’s/Women’s split sales letters vs 1-page – 78%
increase! (only applicable in some industries)
• Testimonials: added headlines to each - ??
Problems with High Exposure Site
• Everyone and their mother rips you off! Even
grandmoms rip you off
• Thieves on ebay
• Websites selling your product through paypal
undercutting price
• Copyright infringement is EVERYWHERE
• Everyone copies everything you do (example - Eben’s
squeeze page)
• Your site attacked by competitors trying to take your
site down (install ip blocking)
• You’re “above the radar” – ad networks, people, etc
seek out problems with what you do.
Dominate Clickbank as a Publisher
• Place your product in 2 major categories (instead of
just 1 cat & 2 sub-cats)
• Drive your own traffic as affiliate, instead of w/o aff
link.
• Getting noticed (1st page ranking) – 5 day promo or
your own traffic. Need high conversions to maintain
1st page, even though promo can get you there.
• Opt-in url on marketplace (keep in contact, update
on split tests, new products)
• Drive traffic from many different cb aff accounts
• Set up affil ads for friends (if you’re good) – most
loyal affiliates you’ll ever have. Promise no loss of $
Affiliates – Pros, Cons, etc
• Affiliates are great, BUT if you don’t drive your own
traffic, you have NO control. Affiliates are not reliable
long term, jump to other offers at the drop of a hat.
• Max payouts – 75% minimum for clickbank. Affiliates
won’t profit on PPC at a measly 50% -- that’s stone
age crap!
• Don’t just payout front end… give them recurring
commissions, backend commissions, sideways
commissions – they’ll make an entire business out of
your aff program if it’s backend and long term
• Serious list owners want lifetime commissions,
backend commissions, and recurring commissions
