Week 6
Tuesday February 19th, 2013
English 10 Do Now 2-19-13
Which “hook” strategy is present? Write out the thesis statement
(stance plus main reasons). Will this author address the
counterargument?

Can you believe Lance Armstrong used
drugs? What kind of role model is he now?
Do you think people will still donate to his
charities? Drug testing should not be just
for professionals. Student athletes should
be drug tested because drug testing keeps
competition fair, maintains athletes’
statuses as role models, and it keeps youth
from making immature decisions about their
body.
