The course of study for AP biology is divided into thirteen units which will be guided by the following 8 themes
as a framework: Science as a Process*; Evolution; Energy Transfer; Continuity & Change; Relationship of
Structure to Function; Regulation; Interdependence in Nature; Science/Technology/Society.
* All included labs will reinforce “Science as a Process” and will reflect the strong commitment to accuracy in lab activities as well as
understanding and resolution of errors which may occur in labs. The appendixes in the lab manual will provide support for this.
