Energy NTTC supports development of North American energy resources, including the XL Pipeline. Electronic Stability Control NTTC supports the NHTSA mandate for ESC on new tractors. We adopted that policy in 2008. Tolling NTTC strongly opposes future tolling efforts. We believe additional tolling increases the size of government bureaucracy and inefficiency, and decreases public safety by forcing traffic to smaller, less capable roadways. Truck Size & Weights NTTC seeks a 10% axle and gross weight tolerance for tank trailers and dry bulk trailers for the tank truck industry. This would be similar to the legislation sought by the auto-haulers and supported by ATA policy and supports legislation to eliminate the freeze on truck size and weight imposed by Congress in 1991 and allow carriers to work on innovations on a state-bystate basis.
