May and June the Draft Strategic Design
developed at the Board Retreat served as the
basis for 5 consultation sessions with the
Members of CHAO

Sessions held in Kingston, London, Toronto,
Guelph and Thunder Bay

130 Members participated and provided advice
in person or via Video Conference

the Strategic Design Team

CHAO Board in July

The Catholic Health Association of Ontario is
the acknowledged voice of Catholic health
care in Ontario, strengthening, supporting
and promoting to its members, elected
leaders, policy makers and others in the
province of Ontario the added -value of the
Catholic health ministry within Ontario’s
health care system.

ADVOCACY

To develop strategies to preserve and promote
the Catholic health care ministry which are
responsive to changing political and cultural
realities;

To identify current and anticipated issues which
will require clear, coordinated member
response/action;

To engage policy makers, politicians and
other health system decision makers in
discussions on issues that impact the
abilities of CHAO members to carry out
their health care ministry;

To work with members to develop and
communicate a consistent message
emphasizing the strengths and benefits of
Catholic health care.

To develop learning opportunities to assist
members in Board and Staff education in
the essential elements of Catholic health
care and how these can be integrated into
every day decisions and actions of the
organization.

Next Steps
Assisted by staff and
committees composed of
Member volunteers the Board of
CHAO will start immediately to
build upon the revitalization plan
and strategic design.

the strategic work of our
Association.
