Application Requirements for undergraduate programmes
1. Applicants can ONLY submit their application documents during the application period
stated below.
2. Applications to be made by
a) those who are foreign nationals,
b) those who are Turkish citizens by birth, but acquired permission to leave Turkish
citizenship and those who certify that they have a certificate of use of recognition of
rights given to the minors registered on the declaration of alienage entitled by Turkish
Citizenship Law, (Due to the provision in Article 7 of 5901 numbered Turkish
Citizenship Law “ (1) A child born within marriage to a mother or father with
Turkish citizenship either within or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen.”, applicants
for foreign student admissions should examine the Turkish Citizenship laws),
c) those who are foreign nationals by birth and acquired Turkish nationality / applicants
who have dual citizenship in this way,
d) those who are Turkish citizens but had all of their secondary education in a country
other than the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) ( including those who
had all of their secondary education at a Turkish school other than in the TRNC),
e) those holding TRNC citizenship who reside in the TRNC, have completed their
secondary education in the TRNC and hold GCE-AL exam results and also those
educated at colleges and high schools in a different country between 2005-2010 and
possess GCE-AL exam results,
shall be accepted on condition the applicant is studying the final year of her/his
secondary education (high school) or has already graduated.
3. IKCUYOS and the other universities’ YOS exams will be accepted for the placement of the
foreign students. The below-stated exam results and diploma degrees are considered for
admissions of the applicants. (The results of the exams that are only for entrance to
universities are valid for two years. However, there is no expiry limit for high school
graduation exams and as such.)

Applications to be made by
a) those who are Turkish citizens and have completed all their secondary education in
Turkey or the TRNC,
b) those holding TRNC citizenship (except those who have completed their secondary
education in the TRNC and hold GCE-AL exam results and also those educated at
colleges and high schools in a different country between 2005-2010 and possess GCEAL exam results),
c) those whose first nationality was Turkish on birth with dual nationality (except those
who have completed their secondary education in a foreign country other than the
TRNC and those who have completed their secondary education in a Turkish school in
a foreign country other than the TRNC),
d) those who have dual citizenship, one of which is TRNC, (except those who have
completed their secondary education in the TRNC and hold GCE-AL exam results and
also those educated at colleges and high schools in a different country between 20052010 and possess GCE-AL exam results),
e) those with Turkish citizenship who have studied in foreign schools in Turkey and
schools within the structure of Embassies in Turkey or those stated in article a number
2, Turkish citizens by birth with dual citizenship,
f) those who have received an exclusion punishment as a result of a discipline offense
from a Higher Education Institute in Turkey,
g) those who apply with incomplete documents
shall not be accepted !
Application Principals
1. Applications are made to Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University Department of Student Affairs
between dates stated in Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University’s academic calender
2. Candidates can prefer and apply to maximum of three programs. These programs are stated
in “Foreign or International Student Acceptance Application Form”.
3. Application documents, special conditions and explanations are announced in university’s
web site.
Application Documents
Application: Please complete the online application form at http://ikc.edu.tr/ between
24/06/2013 and 19/07/2013 in Turkish or English and upload the following documents.
Applicants can apply for up to three different programs.
a) Completely filled and signed Application Form,
b) Certified copy of the High School Diploma or temporary graduation document for
those who haven’t received their diploma yet and their notary or the Turkish Embassy
certified translation into Turkish,
c) Original official transcript showing the high school courses and grades and their
translated copies,
d) Notary or the Turkish Embassy certified copy of the examination result,
e) 2 passaport photographs taken within the last six months.

Application Requirements for graduate programmes
a) To have undergraduate degree from a domestic educational institution or from foreign
faculty or colleges, whose accreditations are accepted from Turkish High Education
Institution
b) To take ALES or an equivalent exam (GMAT, GRE..) in the last three years before
application date.
c) Foreign candidates’ exam assessments are made with one or more of methods, which
are face to face interview, interview with phone, interview on internet, written
examination. Candidate should get 65 from 100 points
d) To get at least 70 points from YDS or İKÇÜ School of Foreign Languages English
language proficiency exams in the last three years before application date, or to have
TOEFL (at least PBT: 550, CBT: 213, IBT: 79 points) or IELTS (academic total point
at least 6,0) grades in the last two years before application date.
e) Candidate, who comes as citizen of countries, whose official language is English, is
taken in interview and/or written examination by İKÇÜ School of Foreign Languages.
f) From the Turkish Consulate or Embassy, which is in the candidate’s place of
residence, taken “Student Visa”.

8) English proficiency Requirement for PhD Programs: Having at least 55 points from
YDS exam or equivalent grade from equivalent exams. For graduate programs, if there
is, YDS or equivalent exam result document.
