MONDAY - No school Labor Day
TUESDAY - Introduction to AP Biology, expectations, grading, etc. Collect Summer Assignment Part II (Chapter
51-55 questions) Choose 1st round lab partner.
WEDNESDAY – Diagnostic Test – What do you remember?
THURSDAY - Chapter 1 powerpoint, Review of Themes of Biology
FRIDAY - Collect and judge Summer Assignment Part I, Lecture Chapter 51, Animal Behavior
Hand out AP Lab 11 Animal Behavior. For Monday, lab design, data tables, graphs set up.
Look at Lab Bench and take Lab 11 quiz.
Week 2 – September 13 – 17
MONDAY - Hand in lab bench quiz. Obtain pillbugs and carry out Lab 11 Part 1.
TUESDAY - Complete Behavior lab, Part 2, Sexual behavior in fruit flies.
WEDNESDAY – Ecology Lecture 1
THURSDAY - Ecology Lecture 2
FRIDAY - Summer Assignment Part III due (photo assignment) Discuss AP Lab 12; Demonstrate Winkler Method
used in lab. For Monday, predict outcome of lab and prepare any data tables or graphs required. Look at Lab
Bench 12 and take quiz.
Week 3 – September 20 – 24
MONDAY – AP Lab 12 Part I
TUESDAY - AP Lab 12 Set up Part 2; Reading of bottles will require more than I hour, expect to stay after school
on Wednesday to complete titrations.
WEDNESDAY - AP Lab 12 Part III, extra time required to complete Part II. AP Lab 12 will require a formal write
up. Formal report will be due on Wednesday, September 29.
THURSDAY - TEST ON BEHAVIOR AND ECOLOGY 30 – 40 MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS AND TWO FREE
RESPONSE ESSAYS.
FRIDAY - Begin Evolution Unit: Chapter 22 reading guide due at beginning of hour. Lecture on Darwin and his
theory. Hand out vocabulary for this unit.

basic genetics terminology : homozygous, heterozygous, dominant, recessive, simple punnett squares.
TUESDAY - Hardy-Weinberg equation and practice problems. Look at Lab Bench and take quiz for AP Lab 8
Population Genetics.
WEDNESDAY – Formal lab report AP Lab 12 Dissolved Oxygen due at beginning of hour. AP Lab 8 Population
Genetics. Lab due on Friday, October 1.
THURSDAY – Chapter 24 reading guide due at beginning of hour. Lecture Chapter 24 Origins of Species.
