Section Specific Information

The textbooks that will be used for this course are Statics and Strength of Materials sixth edition,
Morrow and Kokernak, Pearson Prentice-Hall 2007. Other textbooks will be consulted. Notes,
including problems with solutions, will be placed on Bb during the course.

The midterm tests and final exam are “closed book.” You will only use your writing instruments and a
calculator.

There will be no make-up test for the term tests or the final exam. In case of unexpected illness, only
students with a legitimate doctor’s note will be considered for an adjustment of their final grade. You
must notify the professor of your illness no later than the same day of the given test or assessment.

Students have 7 days to appeal an assignment or test grade from the date the assignment or test is
returned to the class.

Group work and consultation among students for the assignment(s) is beneficial and encouraged
but, copying another student’s work in any way, shape or form is NOT PERMITTED.
