Brian McIntyre, Tacoma News-Tribune: Andrews agreed to renegotiate his contract in March,
lowering his 2010 base salary from $2.956 million to $1.15 million, $900,000 of which was
guaranteed. This is the contract the Seahawks acquired from the Eagles in September, and with
four years and $25.65 million remaining on it, it’s one that the front office is likely to address in
the off-season. Andrews is scheduled to earn $5.25 million in non-guaranteed base salary in
2011, which would make him among the highest-paid guards in the NFL. Andrews would also be
one the more highly-paid right tackles, should the Seahawks attempt to move him outside to
replace Sean Locklear, who is scheduled to be a free agent after the season. A new collective
bargaining agreement is likely to contain a salary cap, and combined with a $500,000 workout
bonus, Andrews’ $5.75 million cap charge is the fifth-highest among the 32 players the
Seahawks have signed for 2011.

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: If the Vikings decline to match, they will receive Seattle's third-round
choice in this year's draft as compensation. The Vikings retained a right of first refusal on
Burleson by making him a restricted free agent qualifying offer of $712,000 earlier this month.
To match the deal, though, the Vikings will have to swallow hard. Beyond the size of the total
payout and a total of $5.25 million in guarantees, are two devious provisions. The first would
guarantee the entire contract, all $49 million, if Burleson plays five or more games in the state of
Minnesota in any season of the contract. The Vikings, of course, play home games in
Minneapolis, at the Metrodome there. The second bizarre provision would guarantee the full
contract if Burleson is paid more on average per year than all of the Minnesota running backs
combined. At least for now, the averages of the Vikings' tailbacks fall well shy of the $7 million
average of the Burleson offer sheet.
Mike Sando, ESPN: With Burleson about to hit the market in free agency, I went through my
notes to add up what the receiver actually received from the Seahawks as part of that deal. The
total: $14.5 million over four years, including a $4 million signing bonus and base salaries of
$1.25 million (2006), $2.75 million (2007) and $3.25 million (2008 and 2009).

Brian McIntyre, NFL.com: the deal is scheduled to pay out $22 million over the next three

AP: The Seattle Seahawks have signed first-round draft choice Aaron Curry to a contract that will
guarantee the star linebacker from Wake Forest $34 million, a person familiar with the deal said
Saturday night. The contract is the richest for a rookie non-quarterback in NFL history and has a
maximum value of $60 million.
Mike Sando, ESPN.com: Curry stands to collect a $15 million option bonus this year, but
payment of an additional $5 million roster bonus is deferred until 2011.
Mike Florio, PFT: Curry recently agreed to a new deal that cuts his rookie contract from six years
to four. It will make Curry an unrestricted free agent after the 2012 season. In return for early
freedom, Curry gave up $5 million in guaranteed money that he’s due to earn in 2012.
AP: The Seahawks decided to cut ties after 2½ seasons, acquiring a 2012 seventh-round pick and
a conditional fifth-rounder in 2013 for a player once considered a "can't miss" star.
Mike Florio, PFT: the trade for linebacker Aaron Curry (who’ll debut Sunday as a starter)
included a revised contract that limits Oakland’s financial investment in 2011 to $370,000, the
prorated remainder of a league-minimum base salary of $370,000. The source says that the rest
of the guaranteed money on Curry’s contract was paid by the Seahawks in the form of a signing
bonus before the trade went down.

with the Seahawks… His deal includes a $700,000 signing bonus, a cap-friendly base salary of
$400,000 this season and a base salary of $1.8 million for next season. The contract also
includes incentives that could push next year's base salary to $2.3 million.
Mike Sando, Tacoma News-Tribune: Dawkins' five-year, $10.14 million contract is essentially a
one- year deal worth $1.14 million… Holmgren, the Seahawks' coach and general manager, had
released Dawkins last month to avoid paying him $1.9 million in base salary this season… The

averages $6.5M… Flynn received a $6M signing bonus and base salaries of $2M this season,
$5.25M in 2013 and $6.25M in 2014. His base salary is guaranteed this season, and $2 million of
his base salary in '13 also is guaranteed. The total guaranteed money is $10M. Flynn's contract
also contains escalator clauses in 2013 and '14 that reportedly could increase the total value of
the contract by another $5M.
Peter King, SI: The deal is for three years, with $10 million guaranteed. Depending on his skill
level and whether he starts, Flynn could earn between $19.5 and $24 million from the contract,
or $26 million if he performs at a top-quarterback level. But chances are he'll play two years of
the deal and then the Seahawks will make their decision for the future on him. His minimum
over two years is $13.25 million, a league source said, with that number rising to $15.5 million
over two years if he starts in 2012, and $16 million if he starts and the Seahawks make the
playoffs.
Joel Corry, NFP: Flynn signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract ($10 million guaranteed and
worth a maximum of $26.2 million through escalators and incentives)… The Seahawks can afford
his $5.25 million 2013 base salary ($2 million is fully guaranteed), which makes him one of the
NFL’s most expensive backup quarterbacks, because Wilson’s four-year rookie deal is worth
$2,996,774 (includes a $619,472 signing bonus). Their combined 2013 salary cap numbers and

Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Friesz strained the posterior cruciate ligament in his
right knee in the Seahawks' 17-16 loss to the Detroit Lions yesterday, one day after signing a
two-year, $4.5 million contract extension… Friesz pockets $1.25 million now in signing bonus
and incentives he would have earned before the end of the season. His base salaries the next
two seasons will be $1.35 million and $1.9 million. Not bad for a guy who is making $600,000

Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Steinberg, who also represents Friesz, helped the
Seahawks free $1.475 million this season when he renegotiated a three-year, $4.25 million deal
that Friesz signed Saturday.
Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Friesz, 31 ((age)), signed a three-year, $4.25 million

Len Pasquarelli, ESPN: According to the 2001 contract, if Hasselbeck finished among the top 15
quarterbacks in any one of three categories -- passer rating, completion percentage or
touchdown passes -- the Seahawks could exercise one-, two- or three-year options at
predetermined salaries [in 2003]. The four-year veteran, who regained the starting job when
Trent Dilfer was felled by an Achilles injury on Oct. 27, finished fifth in completion rate (63.7
percent).
That provided the Seahawks three options: a one-year contract at $4.5 million, a two-year deal
worth $10.5 million, or a three-year contract totaling $18.5 million and including a signing bonus
of $5 million. The team, which had until 10 days after the Super Bowl to decide on exercising the
option, went for the middle ground.

JI Halsell: 6/36, 13 gteed, 20 over 3
John Clayton, ESPN: Hill received a six-year, $38 million deal that includes $15.5 million in
guarantees... One of the interesting addendums to the contract, according to a source, is a
provision that will allow Hill to keep the guarantees if he is suspended for an offseason incident
in which he was found asleep in a car and marijuana was found in the car.
Mike Florio, PFT: The numbers are available for the long-term deal signing by Seahawks
linebacker Leroy Hill after the team yanked a franchise tender that would have paid him $8.4
million guaranteed for one season. Instead, he’ll get $11 million guaranteed for two seasons,
plus most likely a $2 million option bonus.
The payment comes without a signing bonus, but with a $5 million guaranteed base salary in
2009, and a $6 million guaranteed base salary in 2010. After 2010, all bets are off from a salary-
cap standpoint, if there’s still a salary cap. In 2010, Hill is due to receive a $2.5 million roster
bonus and a $4.5 million non-guaranteed base salary. Cutting him would create an acceleration
of only $1.2 million beyond the $400,000 that the Seahawks will carry in option bonus proration
regardless of whether he’s on the team. After that, the base salaries are $5 million in 2012, $5.5
million in 2013, and $5.5 million in 2014. In all, then, it’s a six-year, $36 million deal. As a
practical matter, however, it’s a two-year, $13 million deal with a series of four one-year
options.
Mike Sando, ESPN: The former franchise player, already facing a one-game NFL suspension to
open the regular season, recently agreed to a salary reduction from $6 million to $2.125 million
as part of a deal wiping out the remaining years of his previous contract, according to a source.
Hill's salary had been guaranteed, but off-field troubles can raise questions about a team's
obligations, as when a judge ordered former receiver Charles Rogers to repay $6.1 million in
bonus money to the Detroit Lions… Hill's new deal lets him earn back $300,000 in incentives. He
also gets a $60,000 roster bonus.
Mike Sando, ESPN: The deal featured a $5 million salary in 2009 and a $2 million option bonus
for 2010. The option bonus was triggered early enough for $400,000 in annual proration to
count against the 2009 cap. If the Seahawks decided to part with Hill to save that $6 million in
salary, they could conceivably try to recoup $1.6 million of the $2 million option bonus.
Brian McIntyre, Tacoma News-Tribune: Hill’s one-year deal includes a $100,000 signing bonus,
$685,000 base salary, and $50,000 in per game ($3,125) roster bonuses along with $165,000 in
playing-time incentives
Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Hill can also make $2M max on 1-yr deal. $1.3M base,
$200K to sign, $100K roster bonus, $400K in incentives

Brian McIntyre, Tacoma News-Tribune: Jackson received a $1.5 million signing bonus and will
receive a $500,000 roster bonus if he’s on the 53-man roster for Week One. Jackson has base

C. Hawk, Seahawk Sentinel: Locklear’s five-year, $32 million deal includes an $8 million signing
bonus along with a $4 million roster bonus due in 2009. He will count $2.65 million this year,
which is a little less than the $3 million the Sentinel projected before the full numbers were
known. Next year he will count $6.65 million.
AdamJT13: They prorated Locklear's 2009 roster bonus, adding another $800,000 charge.
Mike Sando, ESPN: The team's usual right tackle can earn an additional $600,000 in 2010
compensation if he plays half the snaps at left tackle in half the Seahawks' regular-season games
[in 2009]
John Boyle, Everett Daily Herald: Locklear will now make $1.315 million in base salary this year.
According to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network, a roster bonus will bump that total to $3.25
million, which means Locklear is still taking a $2.2 million pay cut. Also, Locklear's previous deal
was through the 2012 season, but now he is a free agent after this year.
Gregg Roselthal, PFT: Locklear agreed to a revised deal on Thursday, which reduced his base
salary from $5.45 million to $1.315 million. Locklear also will earn a roster bonus of $1.935
million.

Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: by rushing for 1,000 yards in each of his first two
seasons in the league, he's added $1 million to this year's base salary, which will now be $2.14
million.
Mike Florio, PFT: Lynch indicated that the four-year, $31 million deal included $18 million
guaranteed… a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Lynch’s contract promises
$17 million fully guaranteed on signing. It comes in the form of a $6 million signing bonus, a $4
million base salary in 2012 that is fully guaranteed for skill, injury, and cap purposes, and a $7
million base salary in 2013 that also is fully guaranteed for skill, injury, and cap purposes… The
remaining $1 million in guaranteed money applies to a portion of his 2014 base salary, which is
guaranteed for injury only. In 2014, the full base salary is $5 million, with a $500,000 per-game
roster bonuses and a $500,000 incentive for rushing for 1,500 yards. The 2015 base salary is
$5.5 million, with $2 million in per-game roster bonuses and $500,000 in incentives.
Michael David Smith, ESPN: Under Lynch’s previous contract, he was due to make a $5 million
base salary this year, plus $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses, and he could have earned
another $500,000 in incentives if he had rushed for 1,500 yards. Now Lynch gets a base salary of
$6 million (meaning the Seahawks effectively guaranteed the $1 million he previously would
have had to earn), plus they’re taking $500,000 that he had been scheduled to get paid in 2015
and giving it to him now instead. In all, Lynch will make $6.5 million this year.
Mike Florio, PFT: Lynch has agreed to terms on a new contract that covers the next three years…
Lynch gets $12 million this year, in the form $7.5 million signing bonus and a $4.5 million fully-
guaranteed base salary. In 2016, Lynch (if he plays) will get a base salary of $9 million. In 2017
(if he plays), it’s a base salary of $7 million in 2017 along with a $3 million roster bonus due on
the fifth day of the 2017 league year.

Adam Schefter, ESPN: it is a five-year, $34 million deal with $17 million guaranteed.
Brian McIntyre, Tacoma News-Tribune: Seattle hopes to have another Pro Bowl pass-catcher in
tight end Zach Miller, who signed a five-year, $34 million contract that includes $13 million in
fully guaranteed money at the time of signing. Miller received $5 million to sign, and his $2
million 2011 and $6 million 2012 salaries are fully guaranteed. Miller is due $6.8 million in base
salary in 2013, of which $4 million is guaranteed for injury only. If Miller is on the roster on the
5th day of the 2012 league year – and it’s highly unlikely that he won’t be – the $4 million
becomes fully guaranteed. Miller also has $6 million in roster bonuses from 2013-15, with
cascading base salaries on the back end of the deal. ($4.8 million in 2014, $2.8 million in 2015)
Tom Pelissero, USA Today: Miller accepted from the Seahawks last week reduced his scheduled
compensation by $3 million in 2014 and $2 million in 2015, saving Seattle $5 million in salary cap
space if he plays out the contract… Miller had the $1 million roster bonus that’s due this week
guaranteed in exchange for restructuring the deal, which includes a $900,000 base salary,
$200,000 workout bonus and $900,000 in per-game roster bonuses in 2014. In 2015, Miller
again is due $3 million, none of it guaranteed: another $1 million roster bonus due the 10th day
of the league year, a $1.05 million base salary, a $200,000 workout bonus and $750,000 in pergame roster bonuses. His scheduled cap number is now $4 million each year, down from $7
million in 2014 and $6 million in 2015 under the original five-year, $34 million contract he signed
with the Seahawks in 2011.

Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Mirer, the second pick overall in April's draft,
signed five one-year contracts last week that could pay him as much as $15.672 million,
according to figures filed with the league office and NFL Players Association. The deal calls for
base salaries of $1.244 million this year, $1.555 million in 1994 and $1.866 million in 1995, all
guaranteed. The contract can then be voided by Mirer, or the team can pick up the final two
years at bases of $2.177 million and $2.488 million by giving Mirer a $3.335 million bonus. Also
included is a $3,007,500 incentive bonus that will kick in this year if the rookie quarterback
meets any of two dozen performance standards based on 1992 figures - from the team winning
more games (2) to throwing fewer interceptions (23). If not met this season, the clause rolls
over to 1994 and 1995.
John Mullin, Arlington Heights Daily Herald: Mirer was the second pick of the 1993 draft behind
the New England Patriots' selection of Drew Bledsoe. His initial contract was for $15.672 million
over five years and included a $3.35 million option bonus paid in Dec. 1995, which exercised the
Seahawks' option for the final two years of the deal.
Jim Cour, Vancouver Columbian: The Seahawks have a big wad of money tied up in Mirer.
Rather than allowing him to become a restricted free agent, the team agreed this month to give
him a $3.335 million signing bonus. Mirer will earn $8 million during the next two seasons.
John Mullin, Arlington Heights Daily Herald: the Seattle Seahawks blinked and started a domino
chain that ended late Tuesday with quarterback Rick Mirer agreeing to a new three-year
contract worth about $11.4 million as a member of the Chicago Bears. The Seahawks, needing
salary cap space after two big free-agent signings and anxious not to lose the 11th overall pick of
this year's draft that the Bears were willing to trade for Mirer, agreed Tuesday afternoon to
throw in a 1997 fourth-round pick along with Mirer.

AP: The Seattle Seahawks moved to close a gap at wide receiver, acquiring Ricky Proehl from the
Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice.
Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: the club is attempting to restructure the three-year,
$2.8 million contract the veteran wide receiver signed last year after he was obtained in a trade
with the Arizona Cardinals… Proehl will accept a reduction in his base salary of $750,000 this
season, if he is given the opportunity to make up the difference in incentives… Last year, Proehl
received a $750,000 signing bonus and a base salary of $550,000, but then broke his leg and was
limited to eight games and only five receptions.
Clare Farnsworth, Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Proehl signed a restructured two-year contract
yesterday that lowers his base salary for this season from $750,000 to $500,000, but gives him
the opportunity to make up the difference with incentive clauses for playing time and number of
receptions… Proehl's new deal also includes a clause that prevents the team from asking him to
take a similar pay cut next season, when he is scheduled to make $750,000. Proehl originally
signed a three-year, $2.8 million contract last year after he was obtained in a trade with the
Arizona Cardinals.

Thomas received a signing bonus of $500,000, and in addition to his $320,000 base salary,r
received a $1.18 million roster bonus this month. The Seahawks may elect to pay Thomas a
guaranteed $5 million salary advance after the 2010 season, which would reduce his base
salaries to $625,000 (2011), $1 million (2012), $1.375 million (2013), and $1.75 million (2014), all
of which are fully guaranteed.
Thomas has $5.45 million in non-guaranteed base salary escalators between the 2013 and 2014
seasons which are tied to playing-time percentages and team or personal achievement
qualifiers. Through minimal playing time, Thomas can trigger a $3.5 million one-time bonus in
2011, which would reduce his base salary guarantee in 2013, and void the guarantee in 2014.
Annual workout bonuses of $100,000 are available between 2011 and 2014.

gets $3 million in salary and a $250,000 roster bonus in 2012. The deal carries a $3.4 million

Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Here are some filler details from a league source who's
gotten a peek at the deal: The deal was signed on Saturday, so the Seahawks were able to apply
some money to the uncapped year. It's not much--$125,000 in proration of Williams' $500,000

year), with a maximum value of $13.8 million. Williams has $15,625 per game roster bonuses
from 2011-13. ($250,000 per year) With a new collective bargaining agreement expected to
