He is a PhD Candidate at Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast where he research is focused on “Understanding the role of crisis and disaster mitigation management practices in critical infrastructure organisation: through the lens of resilience engineering and Social Exchange Theory”. Jeremy holds three post graduate degrees, including a Master of Business Research and a Masters of Management (HRM). He has lecturing and had speaking engagements internationally and throughout Australia. Before starting his academic pursuits, Jeremy was a Managing Director of a medium-sized biomedical medical company and has remained an advisor to the business sector and government whilst maintaining his community engagement as a board of not-for-profit organisations. In addition to his academic and business interests Jeremy has obtained an elite level within two sporting disciplines, resulting in him been a duel international representative for Australia. Mr. Jason Mika is the New Zealand Doctoral Student Representative on the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management Board and was the 2012 ANZAM Doctoral Proposal winner. Jason is a descendant of the Ngāi Tūhoe, Whakatōhea, Ngāti Awa and Ngāti Kahungunu tribes of Aotearoa New Zealand and is currently completing his PhD in Māori entrepreneurship at the School of Management, College of Business, Massey University Jason possesses a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) and a Master of Public Policy. Prior to joining Massey University as a PhD student in 2011, Jason worked as a selfemployed management consultant for nine years specialising in Māori economic development. Before this Jason was a policy analyst for Te Puni Kōkiri, the Ministry of Māori Development, from 1996 to 2002 working on Māori enterprise and organisational policy. Jason currently works as a supernumerary lecturer in the School of Management, Massey University while completing his PhD. Jason’s research and consultancy interests lie in helping Maori entities develop effective business strategies, secure resources and achieve their business goals.
