Course Description for Introduction to Marketing: Marketing is a full-year course in which students learn the fundamentals of market information management, sales process, finance, communications, advertising, customer service, promotional techniques, economics, problem-solving, and career pathway opportunities. Marketing prepares students for success in high school and beyond Students will develop the skills necessary to secure and succeed in the world of work. Students will participate and become members of the local DECA Chapter. Activities will include leadership, skill development, and participation at local, state and national leadership conferences. Opportunities to practice and develop International Mindedness are woven throughout the course, including units incorporating research strategies, problem solving, collaboration, communication, leadership, ethics, integrity, and internet safety. The Marketing program prepares students to make the connection from classroom instruction to real life work experiences.
