Course Conversion Checklist
(Please give a copy to your mentor)
Double check with the Honors office to make sure that you are eligible to participate
in the honors program.
Choose any 3-credit, 100 level or above course to convert to an honors course.
Meet with the instructor and inform them that you are interested in converting their class
into an honors class. Ask them if they would be willing to mentor and sponsor your
project for the semester. Instructors do have the right to refuse.
Collaborate with the mentor to design an honors project. The project must meet all the
limits and regulations (10 pages, 10 sources, 10 minute presentation) listed in the
attached contract. The content of the project must be above and beyond any regular class
content and assignment. You should also schedule the due date of your project and the
date of your class presentation at this time.
Submit the completed contract to the honors office (AF 106) by the second Friday in
September during the fall semester or the second Friday in February for the spring
semester. No late contracts will be accepted.
Submit your project for grading to your instructor on or before the date that you
agreed upon. The latest that projects are due is the week prior to the last official week of
classes. The official due date for the project is the date that you and your mentor
determine at the beginning of the semester. There will be no extensions given.
Submit a copy of your project to the Honors office (AF 106) prior to the last week of
classes. You will receive several e-mails throughout the semester with due date
reminders. There will be no extensions given.
