SHAMBALLA
BRACELETS
Shamballa, Shambhala or Shambalas is
traditionally a Buddhist (Tibetan)
mythical kingdom hidden away inside
the mainland of Asia. Various ancient
texts mention it and through
time Shambhala came to be known as
the Buddhist Pure Land, a mythical
kingdom.
Shamballa Jewels
In 1994 a company opened a store in Paris
called Shamballa. Danish jewellery
designer Mads Kornerup, started to sell
designs inspired by ancient Buddhist
beliefs. In 1996 the store moved to SOHO
New York City. Shamballa got some big
clients and opened a second store in Tokyo
in 1999.
The New York store moved to Copenhagn
in Denmark, which is where designs
became more inspired by what we now
know as 'Shamballa'... and over time the
Jewellery shows, appearances in classy
magazines such as Vogue and Harpers
Bazaar etc , plus celebrities such as Demi
Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow have been seen
wearing the designs.
