Attendance/Punctuality
•
•
It is not the % attendance that’s important but the number of days missed!
For example, 95% attendance = 8.5 days missed (1 and ½ weeks)
90% attendance = 15.5 days missed (3 weeks)
85% attendance = 25 days missed (5 weeks)
Attending class is the key to success!
•
Example:
Pupil
•

What is Sociology?
Sociology is the study of the social world, and the behaviour of humans
in a variety of situations. Several aspects of human behaviour are
studied, creating an understanding of society in a changing world.
Sociologists study a wide range of topics including class, gender,
schools, childhood, power, media, social mobility, crime and poverty.
Through studying GCSE Sociology, students will:
study a range of social processes – education; family; crime and
deviance; mass media; power; and social inequality
acquire knowledge and understanding of how society works
understand sociological methodology and a range of research
methods
reflect on their own experience of the social world in which they live
develop their critical thinking
