This motivates my studies in Adult Education • Competency-Based Training and Education – Training and education that focus on a person’s ability to perform critical tasks at a determined level of mastery. Along with this is the application of Constructivist principles and the progression of learners through the Zone of Proximal Development to the level of self-sufficiency. • Mentoring – For over 20 years I have been involved in mentoring as a mentor and protégé. In April of 2013, I finished being mentored by a senior professor in Computer Science from Clemson University. I have now made myself available as a mentor to MentorNet, the organization that facilitated my time as a protégé.
