The "mean" is the "average" you're used
to, where you add up all the numbers
and then divide by the number of
numbers.
Eddie Alvarez
It is easy to calculate: add up
all the numbers, then divide
by how many numbers there
are.
The cost of a tank of gas at nine
different gas stations is shown below.
What was the mean cost of a tank of
gas?
Cost of Gas: $17, $18, $22, $15, $17,
$16, $25, $21, and $20
25+22+21+20+18+17+17
+16=156
8
156= 19.4

The median number is the
number that falls directly in
the middle of the list.
To find the median, the data should be
organized into sequential order. The
middle value in the sequence in the
median, for example in the sequence
3,6,9, 6 would be the median.
3, 5, 7, 12, 13, 14, 21, 23, 23, 23, 23,
29, 39, 40, 56 .The median value of
this set of numbers is 23.
Marco soto
The "mode" is the value that occurs
most often.
Marco Soto
The number repeated most often. This
list has two values that are repeated
three times.
Kate seen 8 blue car, 15 red
cars, 19 pink cars, 19 brown
cars, 28 white cars, 29 green
cars, and 35 black cars
{8, 15, 19, 19, 28, 29, 35}19 appears twice, all
the rest appear only once, so 19 is the mode
Chantz skaer
The "range" is just the difference
between the largest and smallest
values
Chantz skaer
Just order the data from least to greatest, find the
lowest and highest numbers in that set, and then
subtract the lowest number from the highest
number.
13, 18, 13, 14, 13, 16, 14, 21, 13The mean
is the usual average, so:(13 + 18 + 13 + 14
+ 13 + 16 + 14 + 21 + 13) ÷ 9 = 15
