Dear Prospective Member, Welcome to Delta Sigma Pi’s Fall Semester Recruitment 2015! Participating in recruitment is an exciting beginning to our brotherhood. Every recruitment event will give you an opportunity to meet various brothers and help you to determine if Delta Sigma Pi is the right place for you. Please read through the following information and direct whatever questions you may have to me or any other Brother in attendance. Delta Sigma Pi is a co-ed professional business fraternity. To qualify for our membership, you must either be a pre-business major, be pursuing a program within Terry College of Business. You must also have at least 12 hours of university credit, a 3.0 GPA, and three academic semesters remaining before graduation (including the current semester). Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 and has grown to be the largest and most well-known professional business fraternity in the country. Currently, there are over 250,000 members nationwide and almost 80 active members at UGA alone! With over 280 collegiate chapters and 50 alumni chapters, DSP has a strong presence in the business world, locally and nationally. If selected for membership, you will be inducted as a pledge and will begin our semester-long pledge program. You will attend a pledge retreat directed by the Vice President of Pledge Education, Kaitlyn Hill, on Sunday, September 13th. During the six weeks of your pledgeship, you will attend weekly pledge meetings on Tuesday evenings at 6pm. Here you will learn about and be tested on the history and operations of our fraternity. You and your fellow pledge-brothers will be responsible for planning a social event, community service projects, a professional event, and fundraising events. Also, after each pledge meeting, you will sit in our regular chapter meetings to keep up with some of the chapter’s affairs. Finally, we will have an optional dinner at a local restaurant after each chapter so that you may have the opportunity to get to know the Brothers in a more relaxed atmosphere. In order for us to get to know you better and to answer any of your lingering questions, we request that you sign up for an interview either Thursday September 3rd or Friday September 4th. The invitation for the official application as well as the invitation to sign up for an interview will be emailed to you as soon as attendance at required events has been recorded.
