AVID ‘s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
Over 30 years, AVID has become on of the most successful collegepreparatory programs and today reaches more than
400,000 students in approximately 4,800 schools in 48 states and 16 other countries.

• Students are selected from the middle and would benefit from AVID support to improve their academic records and begin college preparation.
• Student and teacher participation is voluntary.

• A strong, relevant writing and reading curriculum is a basis for learning in the AVID elective class.
