World War II
 World War II was a global conflict, meaning many
countries became involved at one point or another
 Overall, by the end of the war, 81 countries were
involved
 Don’t worry! You don’t need to know ALL 81! But you
do need to know the main ones!
Axis Powers
 The Axis Powers were the aggressors of the war
 Considered the root of all evil by the Allied Powers
 The main three include:
 Germany
 Italy
 Japan
Allied Powers
 Originally formed as a military alliance against German
aggression.
 Original members were Great Britain, Poland, and France
 Poland, and France were both invaded and fell to Germany
 The main three Allied Powers throughout the war:
 United States
 Soviet Union
 Great Britain
