Am I in the right room?
Ms. Autrey
Room 101
Algebra 2
allison.autrey@madison-schools.com
The best way for your guardian to contact me is
through email.
I’m Ms. Autrey, and I love…
 My Family
I love spending time with my
family. I have two brothers and one
sister-in-law. My family is full of
teachers - my mom, my brother, and
my sister-in-law are teachers like I am.
My family has moved a lot
because of my dad’s job. I have lived in
Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida,
and now Mississippi.
 The Beach
My family owns a beach home in
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. We spend
many weekends enjoying the sun, sand,
and surf at the Gulf of Mexico. It’s our
home away from home.
Teaching
 My Church and Friends
I attend Fondren Church,
and I enjoy spending time with my
friends who I met there. I also am
involved in a tutoring program for
underprivileged children through my
church. Helping others and being
benevolent is important to me.
I graduated from Florida State University with
degrees in Mathematics and Education.
I taught AP Calculus and Algebra I at Chiles
High School in Tallahassee, Florida before
moving to Mississippi.
I love teaching and promise to give each of you
110% each day.

What are Ms. Autrey’s procedures?
 You will be learning many procedures
throughout the year
 Let’s discuss the procedures that we
will use most often first…
Entering the Classroom
 Students will enter the classroom quietly and go
directly to assigned seat before the tardy bell rings.
 Students will have all course materials and supplies
at desk and will place backpacks and other personal
items at the back of the room.
Bell Ringer Procedures
Everyday will begin with a silent bell ringer
activity.
The Bell Ringer will either be posted on the front
board or will be given to you as you enter the
room.
You are expected to go directly to your assigned
seat and complete the bell ringer without
speaking to others.
What if I’m Tardy?
 If the tardy is excused, place the excuse notice in the
basket on the back table
 If the tardy is unexcused, fill out a yellow Guideline
Infraction Notice and place it in the basket (we will
discuss this procedure later…)
Posting of Assignments
 The daily objectives, agenda, notes title, and

ringer or turned in to the teacher.
 Students are expected to attempt each homework
problem and SHOW ALL WORK to receive credit.
 Homework corrections should be made during class
using red pen (provided by Ms. Autrey).
What if I don’t have my homework?
 Should a student not have the homework with him or
her at the beginning of class, he or she will fill out a
pink Student Responsibility Card and turn it in to
the teacher.
 Students are expected to complete missed
assignments and file them in the appropriate section
of binder.
 *No credit will be given for late assignments – no
exceptions.
What if I’m absent?
 If a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to
obtain missed class work and assignments in the following
ways:
 1) Check Ms. Autrey’s website
 2) Check Ms. Autrey’s Sample Notebook
 3) Contact Ms. Autrey via email or before school.
 Upon returning to Ms. Autrey’s class, students will have until
the next class meeting to turn in missed assignments to the
designated Absent Work location.

following Tuesday at either 7:30 am or 3:30 pm in Ms.
Autrey’s classroom.

required

Tell your elbow partner what you’re most excited
about this year…

I will collect it from you.

academic purposes only.
Intercom or Guest
If there is an interruption by the
Intercom or an unexpected
guest…
You will be silent
Remain on task
What if Ms. Autrey isn’t here?
The substitute will know to record any names of students
who do not follow guidelines or procedures.
Any name that is left by the substitute will receive an
automatic office referral – NO EXCUSES.
This means your behavior must be exceptional. Your
behavior reflects your teachers, your school, and your
peers.
You should be able to run this classroom in the event of a
sub being here…I expect nothing less.
Dismissal Procedure
 We work bell to bell.
On most days, we will take the last 5 to 10 minutes of class to
write a reflection on what you have learned. You may be asked
