I am a student who is mindful and considers school my
“job”. All work is submitted on time. I follow the
procedures without being told or nagged. When given
time to work in class, I focus on the task with little offtopic conversations or off-task behaviors. I treat school
and classroom property with care. I work cooperatively
with others. I participate actively and respectfully. I
contribute positively to our classroom learning
environment daily.

 an introduction
 a clear topic sentence/thesis statement
 three pieces of specific evidence with explanation proving your claim
 wrap-up or a concluding thought restating your claim in another way
 a closing
 written on lined paper or typed in block style (left margins all aligned)
 correct spelling, grammar and punctuation rules
 follows format

Evidence (All three must be specific and provide PROOF that you have actually done this not that you are “trying to”. You
may write more than three.)
Example: Instead of “I try really hard”, state…“I write the homework down in my planner daily. If you looked in my planner,
you would see it filled in daily from previous weeks as well as today.”
Concluding Thought:
Example: Instead of “that’s why I am requesting a level change”, state “Following procedures, turning work in on time and
coming in to work at lunch all demonstrate a student who cares about her work.”
