Objective
The main objective is to increase the
knowledge of the electric neuronal oscillations
correlated to memory and attention as the
basis for neuronal regulation aimed at
enhancing the human performance and health.

• Evaluation criteria transferred to other clinics
and academia (EE, RU, UK)
• A new open access journal (PL)
• Exhibitions (UK)
• Press and electronic media (all)
J. Pop-Jordanov, COST DC BMBS Meeting, Brussels, Dec. 2006

C. Self-evaluation
Main Successes
• Increased number of participating COST
countries and non-COST institutions
J. Pop-Jordanov, COST DC BMBS Meeting, Brussels, Dec. 2006
20
Main Successes (cont.)
• Joint international financed research projects
• Increasing number of STSM
• Intensive participation of young scientists
• Assistance with the foundation of SAN
J. Pop-Jordanov, COST DC BMBS Meeting, Brussels, Dec. 2006
21
Drawbacks
• Week inter-WGs cooperation
• Insufficient translational research
• Relatively small number of multi-country
publications
J. Pop-Jordanov, COST DC BMBS Meeting, Brussels, Dec. 2006
22
A Generalized Statement
COST is not only an acronym,
it is also a synonym for cost-effective
