Angry at the source of life. Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. Mocking It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. Anger and Despair THEME: Our lives our full of drama, but have very little meaning when all is said and done. Evidence 1: “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”- Our lives have highs and lows, but in the end it doesn’t really mean anything. Evidence 2: “all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death”- We place a high value on learning from the past, but Shakespeare is saying that those who study the past still march toward death. Evidence 3: “Life is a poor player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more”- This shows that life is brief and then forgotten.
