Review Project 2013-2014

Objective: As a review and creative work for this marking period, you will be
designing a project that will demonstrate your understanding of some of the
key information from Chapters 1-8 and Appendix B (statistics). This project
will be due BEFORE the midterm and will take the place of a free response
essay on the exam. It will be worth 50 points. This score will be added to
your multiple choice score and together form the X1 midterm grade.
Requirements:
 Your project should incorporate a sampling of information from all chapters covered
in class, which are Chapters 1-8 and Appendix B. You have some leeway about
which information from each chapter you would like to incorporate into your project.
However, you are required to include enough information in order to demonstrate the
material covered in the text.
 You may work in a pair or larger group (depending on the project), but keep in mind
that all group members receive the same grade and that the project must be organized
in a total presentation, not parts handed in separately.
 You must alternative ideas to your teacher for approval.
 Be Creative & Have Fun!
Possible Project Ideas:
 Construct a storybook, scrapbook, or ABC book (individual or with a partner)
Please note: The ABC book must include all of the letters of the alphabet and each
letter must have at least two words, explanations AND pictures. There should be a
picture and explanation of the terms. If you choose the scrapbook, it must also
include definitions/explanations in addition to pictures and artistic touches. In the
storybook, you must demonstrate your understanding of the topics in a creative and
interesting story format.
 Create a talk show, game show, or documentary (group project of up to 4 studentsemail me mrsjanispsychology@gmail.com and/or hand in a flash drive of your
project).
 Design your own version of Psychology Today magazine (you can work alone or
with a partner)
 Develop a song (you can work alone or up to a group of 3). The song MUST be at
least 2 minutes long and can either be recorded or performed in class. You must
include the lyrics with your recorded song.
 Construct a board game (you can work alone or up to a group of 3). Make sure that
there are instructions and a key to play the game in order to demonstrate your
understanding of the material.
 Create an idea of your own-teacher approval required.
