
Site Visit: Six weeks until the visit. Need six site supervisors to attend on Monday
April 28th from 3-4pm. Barbara Sheridan from CHDC is confirmed. Dr. Haber will
coordinate with Richland 2, as well as plan to attend the site supervisor meeting
himself. April 29th beginning at 9am will be site visits. On Monday April 28th at 4pm,
current student meetings will occur. Dr. Gold still needs school counseling alumni to
attend from 3:45 to 5pm on Tuesday. Dr. Evans will identify School Counseling alum
to invite. Dr. Gold also needs current MCFC students on Monday from 4-5pm. Dr.
Carlson will check with current students during class tonight. Dr. Gold will call
doctoral student alum and invite them to meet with CACREP


We've admitted 8 students and have heard from five (Jules A; Tiffany Bordonado;
Kimberly Dawes; Sven; Kathryn Feather) of the students confirming their acceptance
to the program. Have not heard from Chandra Goodwin, Claudia, Stacey Oldin.
Students seeking assistantships need to navigate to career center and create a
profile. Dr. Gold will send memo to the Department Chair on April 1st regarding the
matching funds to get students in-state tuition.

Comps are scheduled for July. We will assign new questions for students.

The Follow-up to Initial QCom Findings was reviewed, with strengths, areas for
improvement, and further suggestions noted.

We have refined our data gathering methods so they are more useful, meaning they
are tied to standards rather than assignments.

Can we add a section on our website called 'student accomplishments'? June will
need to request this change through OIS.

Consider having placements conducted through the PDS office, per the suggestion
from Q-Comm to develop additional placement sites.

June will add the Q-Comm document to our website.

Please send all rubrics to Laura Aboyan immediately after completing
courses/assignments.

New Business - None
Old Business

Search Committee - We received five new applicants and need to make a decision
by Friday. Committee members will rank order the candidates and send to Kathy via
email.

Lab renovations - Much of the work has been done and we are awaiting the
hardware and Milestone Software. Dr. Carlson will follow-up with Teri and Simone
regarding the next steps.

School Counseling Reunion - Very few current school counseling students are
planning to attend the reunion. The reunion takes place March 28th. There are
currently 13 alumni registered to attend.

Supervision Workshop - Some registrants have been received. Doctoral students
are playing counselors who need supervision. Dr. Evans is requesting faculty who
can be part of the break out sessions. Will break down into separate tracks (MCFC,
School) for orientation. The afternoon will be the experiential portion of the
workshop. June will also request a section on the web page for 'Upcoming Events';
we can use this section to advertise events such as the reunion and supervision
workshops. Dr. Gold suggests inquiring about a student from marketing to help with
program information.

Orientation - Dr. Evans is considering a date of Friday May 30th. She is working on a
complete agenda, as well as powerpoint, and additional resources/information that
students will need prior to attending. Another potential date is Monday June 2nd,
which is the first day of classes. Another potential 'button' on the website is 'New
Student Orientation' and can include information related to beginning the program.
Dr. Evans will also create a list of all the current GAs that current students have on
campus. Orientation can include: Professional organizations, extracurricular program
activities, deadline dates (pract/internship deadline dates; program of study), CSI,
residency information, books, parking, health insurance information, getting the most
out of the program (surviving vs. excelling).

Graduate school is requiring a form and syllabus for every student who is
transferring in credits from another institution. Advisers need to be aware these
forms need to be completed for each course transferred into USC.
