Harlaw Academy National 4/5 Chemistry Progress Summary – internal assessment To complete the internal assessment for the course, you must pass all four areas – knowledge and understanding, researching and reporting, scientific report writing and problem solving. Knowledge and Understanding (2.1) You have to pass this for each unit. (See detail below). Tick each box when you have passed: Unit 1 Unit 2 Unit 3 National 4 National 5 Scientific Report of an Experiment (Applies to Nat 4 or Nat 5) You have to pass each of the six skills involved in experimenting and reporting. These will be assessed more than once during the course, but you only need to pass each skill once. Tick each box when you have passed: 1.1 Planning 1.2 Following procedures 1.3 Observing and recording 1.4 Presenting results 1.5 Drawing conclusions 1.6 Evaluating Solving Problems (2.4) (Applies to Nat 4 and Nat 5) You have to pass each of the four types of problem solving. These will be assessed in all units, but you only need to pass each type of problem once. Tick each box when you have passed: Predicting Selecting Processing Analysing Report of a Research Investigation (Applies to Nat 4 and Nat 5) You have to pass both of the skills involved in researching and reporting. These may be assessed more than once, but you only need to pass each skill once. Tick each box when you have passed: Researching (2.2) Reporting (2.3) National 5 Unit 1 – Chemical changes and Structure Test 1 Key Area Rates of reaction Atomic structure and bonding Formulae and reaction quantities Acids and bases Total Pass?
