• There are about 532 districts in over 219
countries and geographic areas throughout the
world.
• Our club, Rotary Club of New Delhi is in District
3010 which is comprised of over 130 clubs with
over 5500 members.
• Our district comprising the NCT of Delhi,
Faridabad, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Rewari, Sonepat,
Ghaziabad and parts of U.P.

president and a board of directors elected
from all over the world.

In the beginning…
Rotary Founder
Paul Harris
• The first Rotary club was organized in Chicago
in 1905, by Paul P. Harris.
• The club, with four members, met in rotation
at the offices of the members - thus the name
Rotary.
• There are approximately 12,19,594 Rotarians in
over 34,535 clubs worldwide.

There are 550 Women Rotarians in
District 3010.

Service Above Self
• Rotary was not long to recognize that fellowship alone
would not keep a group together — there needed to be a
purpose.
• The first service project was public toilets in downtown
Chicago, IL, USA.
• Rotary became the world’s first service club.

– Part of a 7,000 students/year program.
– Rotarians host these young people in their
homes for three to five months.

Object of Rotary
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
1.
The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
2.
High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the
worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarian of his or
her occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
3.
The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to his or her personal,
business and community life;
4.
The advancement of international understanding, good will, and peace through a
world of fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of
service.

one who was working 24hrs during district project RESET , RYLA , Installation
and Thanksgiving.
12. Best Rotaract Club - Rotaract Club of Sri Guru Gobind Singh of College of
Commerce (SGGSCC). One of the biggest and Finest project was done by
SGGSCC Rotaract club like MANTHAN & CONSOTRIUM.
13. Rtn. Prashant Sahgal - District Interact Chair - Governor's Special
Recognition for significant contribution to the cause of Rotary.

Your Obligations in Rotary
Participation
• To be a Rotarian you must give of your time and
talents:
– in community work
– in fellowship and social functions
– in club and district activities.

Attendance
• Attendance at the weekly meetings is a benefit of Rotary.
A minimum of 50% is expected.
• You can easily maintain your attendance levels by
making up at another Rotary club meeting, participating
in club service projects, and activities.

Rotary International’s successful “End Polio” program that resulted in
eradication of polio , totally from India and from nearly 99% of the world,
