Rotary Programs of District 5510
Rotary District 5510 prides itself in vocational, community and international involvement with many programs. Rotary
District 5510 programs listed below have far-reaching effects in the communities and people involved. Rotary service
touches lives all over the world.
District 5510 Programs:
Rotaract
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either
community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true “partners in service”
and key members of the family of Rotary.
As one of Rotary’s most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 7,000
clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide
phenomenon.
Our club supports ASU Rotaract but is not the sponsor.
How does it work?
All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social
needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
What are some other opportunities available to Rotaractors?
Rotaractors may also:

Assist in organizing Interact clubs or mentor Interactors

Participate in Rotary Youth Leadership Academy

Seek membership in their local Rotary club
Interact
Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual
Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. Each year, Interact
clubs complete countless community service projects, under the Rotary slogan “service above self.”
Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the
importance of:
o
Developing leadership skills and personal integrity.
o
Benefiting the community through service projects.
o
Creating valuable friendships.
o
Advancing international understanding and goodwill.
As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 290,000 Interactors in
12,300 clubs and 133 countries. Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon.
High school students can become involved in the Interact Club at their high school or even start their own. They can also
join the Interact 5510 District Council. The District Council creates a unified district of Interact clubs to promote
international understanding and goodwill. District Council meets once a month in order to plan the annual Fall Leadership
Conference in November, Presidents Winter Retreat in February, and other events that promote the goals of Interact
throughout the district. The possibilities with Interact are endless. Together we can make a difference in our community
and even the world.

the sites given. We cannot sponsor an exchange student as an eclub doesn’t meet all the requirements. We have
in the past helped other District clubs participate in this important program for our youth and may in the future.
