Explanation of Steps in the RPL process
Step 1: Once you have spoken to an Onfit Training College Careers Advisor about your enrolment, fill in an
Onfit Training College Enrolment Form identifying the course you wish to complete. Make the payment for
your RPL application. This fee will be credited toward your course should you need further training to
complete the qualification.
Fees for RPL:
$295 for 1 qualification
$495 for 2 qualifications (eg. Certificate III & IV in Fitness)
$595 for 3 qualifications (eg. Certificate III, IV and Diploma of Fitness)
Step 2: You are required to collect the listed evidence in the table. Remember to name each document as
specified in the table. Some units of competency also require a ‘competency conversation’ – this is where
an assessor will contact you to ask questions relating to your experience in the fitness industry (see Step 4).
Be sure to have your employer/supervisor fill in the Third Party Reports in the Appendix of this kit. As well
as the evidence listed in Table 1 of this kit, you can also supply certified copies of your certificates and
academic transcripts of any training you have previously completed.
Once you have collected and correctly named ALL your evidence, save electronically in separate folders for
each subject/unit. You can then either submit on a USB by posting to 124 Phillip Cres, Barellan Point QLD
4306 or use drop box. Please see instructions for uploading and sharing drop box:
Uploading - https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/90
Sharing - https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/19
Step 3: Your Onfit assessor will verify all evidence supplied. This could include making phone calls to
training institutions that have issued certificates or contacting employers to verify duties that you have
undertaken. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your application to be processed.
Step 4: Your Onfit assessor will arrange a competency conversation in which you will be asked a series of
questions to verify your knowledge. You will be supplied with a list of questions the assessor may ask
during the conversation.
At this stage, your Onfit assessor may advise if you need to complete any gap training.
Step 5: If necessary, your Onfit assessor will arrange a suitable time for you to demonstrate your practical
skills.
At this stage, your Onfit assessor may advise if you need to complete any gap training.
Outcome
The outcome of the RPL assessment will be recorded on an outcome report which will be emailed to you.
This report will show you which units have been granted RPL and which units you will need to complete
assessments for.
If you are unhappy with the outcome of your RPL assessment, you can contact the Onfit Training College
RPL Officer and organise an interview time. At this interview your application will be reviewed and any
further supporting information can be provided. You may wish as an alternative to demonstrate your
competency to one of our qualified assessors as an addition to the supporting documents you have
provided. Discuss the options with the Onfit Training College RPL Officer to establish the best way to
ensure a fair outcome. Remember an Onfit Training College qualification is highly regarded in the industry
and we make every attempt to ensure all our students meet this benchmark to be of the highest quality in
their chosen profession.

Certificate III Self-Evaluation and Evidence list
The evidence required for each unit of competency is listed in Table 1. Please use this to indicate if you
have supplied each piece of evidence. Please note that the evidence is to be named as per the document
codes listed in Table 1.
Where there is a piece of evidence that is required for a number of units, please just supply this evidence
once and reference all relevant document codes on the document.
Third party reports can be found in the Appendix at the end of this document. You will need to ask your
employer/supervisor who has seen you perform the tasks to fill them out.
Where a competency conversation is required for a particular unit of competency, your RPL assessor will
arrange a suitable time for this. They will supply you with a list of questions just prior to the conversation
taking place.
Only submit your RPL application once you have completed Table 1 below and collected ALL supporting
evidence (named correctly).
