INTRODUCTION
The Newark Community Resource Directory is a listing of agencies in the Newark area that offer services to
youth and their families. The agencies are listed in alphabetical order, but you will have to read through the
listings of agencies to determine whether or not the services you need are available.
All of the agencies listed have addresses, telephone numbers, and some have a contact person. Just reading
through the directory can provide you with some knowledge of services and activities for young people in
Newark. By no means is this directory meant to be a complete listing of services available to youth, but
rather a document upon which to build.
The directory can be used to make referrals, find summer programs, locate alternative programs, and to locate
special services.
Please call the Office of Student Support Services if you wish to add resources, or complete the form included
in the directory or fax the form to our office at (973) 733-7670.
Recommended resources will be included in the next update.

friends, teachers, and school work to continue to heal while learning.
4
LIVING THROUGH LEARNING FOUNDATION (continued)
To achieve this goal we provide schools and families with the means and training to connect a child with their classroom
and other discovery based environments so they can continue to learn and have meaningful educational opportunities with
their friends, even when they are too ill to attend school in person.
Classroom Connections:
LTLF connects children with chronic health conditions to their classrooms using secure webcams and desktop computers.
Learners “attend” class using a secure video conferencing system which allows them to visit with their friends even when
they physically are in the hospital or at home.
Virtual Fieldtrips
LTLF connects children with chronic health conditions to museums, science and cultural institutions via virtual field trips.
Students work directly with museum staff on experiments, guided tours, and other interactive activities. Virtual field trips
keep young minds learning.
