logo, the staging area must be clear of other elements such as type, images and other logos.
UNILINGUAL LOGO VERSION
The clearspace above, below and on each side of the logo is
equal to the height of the “A” in CANARIE.
UNILINGUAL LOGO AND TAGLINE VERSION
The spacing between the logo and the unilingual tagline (including required clearspace
below tagline) is determined by the height of the “E” in CANARIE.
BILINGUAL LOGO AND TAGLINE VERSION
The spacing between the logo and the bilingual tagline (including the space
between the English and French taglines) is determined by the height of the
“E” in CANARIE.

LOGO COLOURS
Maintaining the distinctiveness of the CANARIE logo depends on accurate and consistent reproduction of its features.
For this reason, no attempt should be made to reproduce the CANARIE colours without using exact percentages of CMYK
or the actual Pantone Matching System® (PMS) colours. These formulas can be found in the “Colour” section on page 5.
The CANARIE logo should never appear in a box of any colour.
Two-or-more-colour version
For two-or-more-colour printing, the logo requires CANARIE
blue, with the exception of the stylized “A’s,” which require
CANARIE green.
One-colour version (Gray)
Forone-colourprinting,thepreferredtreatmentofthelogorequires
solid black, with the exception of the stylized “A’s,” which require
65% black for contrast.
One-colour version (Solid)
Whencircumstancesdon’tallowforpercentagesofblack,thelogo
may appear as solid black on a light background or as solid white
on a dark background.
CA*net 4 Logo

IMPROPER LOGO USAGE
The CANARIE logo should always be reproduced in a manner that avoids visual distraction and maintains the integrity
of the design. There are a number of restrictions placed upon the reproduction of the logo. The examples below illustrate
unacceptable logo usage.
Logo colours may not be altered in any way.
No other font may be substituted for the
corporate font.
The logo may not be positioned on
any angle other than 0°.
No part of the logo may be distorted,
redrawn or redesigned.
Logo colours may not be a percentage of a colour.
Dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing
elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod
The logo may not be placed close to text. See “Logo
Staging” on page 1 for clearspace requirements.
The logo may not be placed on dominant backgrounds,
patterns or textures.

THE CANARIE GRAPHIC SYMBOL
This symbol was created as a subtle interpretation of the many aspects of CANARIE. CANARIE fosters innovation by
bridging groups together through next-generation research networks and applications. The arrow represents the dynamic
forward-moving actions of CANARIE and these groups. The elements of the arrow should always be displayed in a cluster
to illustrate how CANARIE and its partners advance together.
Primary graphic element
Any of CANARIE’s three corporate colours may
be used for the primary graphic element.
