checkMR. PEPLINSKI About Peppy History I was born and raised in Suttons Bay Michigan. I graduated from Suttons Bay High School in 1993. After high school I went to Central Michigan University and graduated in 1998 with a teaching certificate and degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Upon graduation I moved to California and took a teaching job at the same high school as my twin brother. This school in California is actually where the nickname Peppy came from. I found out quickly that California was not my calling and returned home after one year. I was very pleased to be hired at Leland Public Schools. Hobbies In my free time you will probably find me outdoors. I love being outside doing many different activities. In the summer you will find me on one of our many golf courses here in the county. Occasionally I also get a chance to sneak out and do some fishing. In the fall I can be found in my tree stand. Mostly I use this opportunity to relax and every so often I get lucky and I am able to tag a deer or some ducks if I feel like getting up that early. I was actively involved in sports in high school and was able to participate at the college level as well. I love to coach and coached a variety of sports from golf to baseball to basketball to volleyball. If I am unable to be outdoors I enjoy playing cards with my family and friends. Family I come from a very large family. In fact the running joke is that I am related to most of the county. This is not far from the truth. I met my wife in 2002 and in the summer of 2005 we had our first child. In the summer of 2008 we had our second child. Including: skeletal, muscular, nervous, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, excretory, and endocrine. Each unit is divided into three basic sections. Anatomy describes the various cells, tissues and organs of the system; physiology describes how the parts of the system function in relationship to each other and to other systems; pathology relates specific disorders to abnormal functioning of the system. Much of our lab time is devoted to the dissection of the cat. Other lab investigations include: observing the effects of enzymes and pH on the gastric, mineral, and water content. Eye and brain dissections are also preformed. Our health, jobs, and recreation all depend on clean air, pure water, and abundant fish and wildlife. Over the years, we have had many successes; Bald Eagles are making a comeback. Lake Erie is cleaner then it once was, and integrated pest management and conservation tillage are gaining wider acceptance. We still have much to do to ensure a sustainable use and enjoyment of our natural resources. In Environmental Science students will learn how we can affect and manage our soils, forest, energy usage, wildlife and water resources. In addition, students will study biomes and how energy moves through them. They will study the atmosphere and climate and how weather is affected by them. Students will also learn about alternative energy sources. This will be archived through hands-on laboratory activities, reading assignments, traditional lecture, and small group works.
