Introduction
The ThinkCentre A62 is the latest AMD stable
platform for customers who are looking for
outstanding productivity and a cost
competitive solution. It features an AMD 780V
chipset, quad/triple-core processors and
business-class processors, DX10 Onboard
graphic cards, Hybrid Crossfire1, DASH 1.12,
and DisplayPort3. Meanwhile, both the
ThinkCentre A62 tower and desktop are
EPEAT Gold rated and compliant with
GREENGUARD, ENERGY STAR 4.0, and
RoHS.
ThinkCentre A62 desktop and tower systems
are designed to meet the needs of large
enterprises to small businesses customers.
The ThinkCentre A62 offers all the features of
the ThinkCentre A61, in addition to exciting
new features.

Energy Efficiency
Introduction
Many organizations are responding to the need to be more environmentally responsible
and are purchasing products for their business which have less of an environmental
impact. Lenovo is introducing a new generation of PCs that are more energy efficient.
Compared with the A61, the A62 offers improved acoustic performance and reduced
power consumption. The A62 is one of the most environmentally friendly desktops
available and has an EPEAT gold rating. Not only is the ThinkCentre A62 compliant with
EPEAT Gold, ENERGY STAR 4.0, RoHS, and GREENGUARD (Air Quality Emissions
Certification), but it also has the EPEAT gold rated monitor, made first and only by
Lenovo.
AMD Processors
In addition, when compared to the A61, the A62 with Athlon 2650e processor offers up
to 40% power expense savings per unit per year. AMD Cool’n’Quiet Technology allows
each processor to throttle its speed up or down as needed in order to save energy.
When the load is light, the processor’s clock speed and core voltage are automatically
reduced, thereby saving energy and cost.

ENERGY STAR 4.0
Lenovo offers select A62 models that have met the requirements to be ENERGY STAR
4.0* compliant. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the
environment through energy efficient products and practices. ENERGY STAR is a
voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The benefit to the customer is that energy
efficient choices can save customer on their energy bill with similar savings of
greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort. For more

EPEAT
The A62 has also been recognized by the Electronic Product Environmental
Assessment Tool (EPEAT). EPEAT evaluates electronic products, based on their

market recognition for efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products. The

Security
Security
The A62 helps customers ensure security with “Express Repair” in Rescue & Recovery, which compares
key files that are commonly corrupted with known “clean” versions of the files. If files are found that do
not match up, Express Repair offers to replace them with the clean versions. Recovery times can be
reduced to 2-3 minutes, leaving all applications and data on the system intact.
At the BIOS level, the A62 provides higher security through the USB port that can be individually
disabled or enabled.
The A62 also features Computrace, which can track your PC if it is stolen or threatened. It also features
an Intrusion Switch, which alerts you if your chassis has been opened. The Trusted Platform Module 1.2
will also prevent data from being stolen by (disk encryption and password protection).
The ThinkCentre A62 offers RAID 0 and RAID 1. RAID refers to Redundant Array of Independent Disks.
RAID 0 provides maximum performance and capacity of multiple drives, while RAID 1 provides
maximum protection.
