Natarajan (CEO, New BD, Titan), Sunil Dutt (Former Samsung), Atul Bindal (Former Airtel) discussed about how inclusive growth can be brought about by paradigm shifting movement in Innovation. Counsel General and Head of Compliance and Dispute Resolution - Wipro), Jitendra Chaddah - (Director of Strategy and Planning - Intel). The panel illustrated the importance of ethics and governance at workplace and the role of the organization leaders in creating a culture of governance. SILVER JUBILEE YEAR Event: 7/25 Date: 27th March Topic: Life at Amazon Facilitated: NHRD Bangalore Approximately Attended by: 150+ Sharad Sharma (Former Yahoo) and Harish Devarajan (Former Unilever) engaged Amit Agarwal (VP and Country Manager Amazon India) and Raj Raghavan (HR Leader India) in an insightful conversation about Organization Building, Culture and Employee Engagement. While Sharad Sharma shared his experiences while at Yahoo, Amit was candid about how the culture of allowing people to experiment and take risks, encouraged him to lead the India Operations after 2 decades at the Organization. Tarun Kochhar’ (Carpediem) moderated the dialogue between Nikhil Indrasenan, Sandeep Krishnan, Nihar R & Rajiv Krishnan about the practices of Employer Branding. Vishal Bali (former Fortis and now Founder of Medwell Ventures) engaged Kovaichelvam (TVS Motors), Srivatsan Aparajithan (Vidal healthcare), Venkatesh (AOL), Tarun (GE) in a conversation about trends in employee wellness and what the companies need to do. SILVER JUBILEE YEAR Event: 14/25 Date: 26th June Topic: Integrating Technology, Social Media and Community in Learning Organizations Facilitated: NHRD Bangalore Approximately Attended by: 175 Abhijit Bhaduri and his team comprising Dr. Mrityunjay, Tanaz and Vishal Shah shared with the NHRD audience how they had been integrating technology, social media and community at Wipro. Prior to this discussion, NHRD Bangalore had organized a showcase of organizations that provided differential technology based learning solutions to the corporate and academia. Events and Initiatives from October 2013 to September 2014 SILVER JUBILEE YEAR Event: 15/25 Date: 31st July Topic: Cricket and Leadership Facilitated: NHRD Bangalore Approximately Attended by: 175 This was a block buster monthly meet with a Cricketer, Corporate Leaders, and Authors who had drawn analogy between cricket and management and Cricket Enthusiasts. Sudheesh moderated a discussion with Mohandas Pai (Chairman of Manipal Group), Javagal Srinath (Former Indian Cricketer and Arjuna Awardee), Giridhar (Registrar of Azim Premji University), Raghunath (consultant at Azim Premji Foundation) and Dev Prasad (Senior Engineer at Bosch ltd.) SILVER JUBILEE YEAR Event: 16/25 Date: 26th August Topic: The Myth of Assessments – Psychometrics Revisited Facilitated: NHRD Bangalore Approximately Attended by: 170 Another well attended session with 3 expats (2 settled in India) discussing about the myths of psychometrics and other forms of assessments. There was a showcase followed by a panel discussion. Madan Padaki (a serial entrepreneur) engaged the panellists - Andrew Warren Smith (CEO – DDI), Mellissa Ferrier (YSC) and Valerie Gray (Talent Makers) about the evolving space of assessments. Special Initiatives: Academia-Industry Connects: Collaborative seminar with the Indian Academy of Management Studies on 25th and 26th April I. II. Joy of Giving Program (Shadow the HR Leader) – Oct 2013 28 distinguished HR Leaders from Bengaluru city volunteered to share their valuable time with 32 select HR students. It is very notable gesture on part of these leaders to embrace the joy of giving real time experience at their work locations. We had 45 nominations from several B-Schools, from Bangalore and Mysore. 32 students were selected by NHRD Bangalore through their statement of purpose, telephonic and face-to-face discussions. The Joy of Giving kick-started on Oct 1st and spread over the month for about 13 working days. Project Swayamvar: January 11th 2014: Free Registrations Up to 130 students and 15 companies participated. 50+ students were selected for internship projects through Swayamvar this year as compared to 20+ students during the previous year. This year the initiative was led by NHRD Bangalore student council. III. Research Forum: IIM- Bangalore: Organized a research forum on ‘Social Media, Big Data and Innovation’ on 15th March in association with Nasscom and NHRD Bangalore IV. Step-up Program: (Free) Free industry ready workshops conducted to help students transition from campus to corporate. 895 students have been covered in 9 institutes in 35 sessions from Oct 2013 to May 2014. TRIADS: TRIADS is designed and operated by NHRD Bangalore over 8 years, evaluating contribution to the Academic Full time HR projects of MBA students in Karnataka through an annual contest that recognizes the best participants from students, academic institutions and company guides in projects. The contest is applicable for Full Time HR Projects as per the academic requirement. In 2014, we had 12 institutions participating with 32 HR projects. Faculty Development: NHRD Bangalore in collaboration with Canara School of Management conducted an exclusive 6-weekend program from 14th December 2013 to 1st February 2014 for HR faculty of Bangalore University. 25 HR Faculty went through the program. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Pankaj Chandra of IIM-B & the valedictory address was given by Dr KRS Murthy (former Director of IIM B) & Mrs Sujatha Balakrishnan. b. Fast Track HR Professionals’ Development Program: NHRD Bangalore initiated this program in the year 2008 for HR professionals. 80+ mid to senior HR Professionals have benefitted from the program so far. The 5th batch of the program was conducted in collaboration with Welingkar Institute of Management. The fee was highly subsidized to Rs. 16000/- per participant. There were 15 participants from various industries. Senior HR Leaders/ Subject Matter experts facilitated the sessions with zeal.
