 Wilson wins the Election of 1912 thanks to the
split in the Republican Party between TR and
Taft
 He receives only 41% of the vote but wins a
landslide in the Electoral College
 He would call his plan for the country the “New
Freedom”


The Progressive Presidents (TR, Taft, Wilson) set a
trend in motion for future Presidents to expand
governments role
 Many of the acts passed are still in place today
(Workers Compensation, 16th Amendment, Federal
Reserve, 19th Amendement)
 These legislations are designed to help protect
citizens and fix problems involving schools, cities,
the environment and overall public health

