Creating and Editing
Folders in EDLINE
Log on to EDLINE
www.edline.net
Please enter your username and password.
To go to a class home page, first select “My Classes
& Shortcuts” and then click the class name.
Each class must have the following folders:
- Assignments/Homework
- Quizzes
- Projects
- Tests
Click the “Edit” button at the top of the
Contents box.
TO ADD A FOLDER Under the heading “Select the type to add”
a. Click the down arrow next to the word
“Document” and choose "Folder”
b. Click the Add button
In the field for “Folder Name,” type in “Projects”.
Add a Folder Description, if desired; then click the
Save & Add Another button.
In the field for “Folder Name” type in “Quizzes”. Add
a Folder Description, if desired; then click the Save
and Return button.
TO EDIT A FOLDER NAME –
Click the Edit button next to the Assignments
folder.
Change the Folder Name from “Assignments”
to: “Assignments/Homework”.
Click the Save button.
Repeat these steps for each class that
you teach.
Adding a Syllabus to
a Class Home Page
Click the “Edit/view contents in list view” button in
the News bar.
At the top of the screen, check that the type to
add is “News,” and then click the “Add” button.
Enter “Syllabus” in the “Document Title” field.
Click “Import an existing file.” The
following box appears:
Click Browse to find your file, click the file name,
click Open and then click Import.
Copy the syllabus to additional sections of the
same course, if desired.
Click the Save & Return button.
Repeat this process for all courses.
Adding Pictures to
Class Home Pages in
EDLINE
To go to a class home page, first select “My Classes
& Shortcuts” and then click the class name.
Click the “Command Center” link on the
left side of the screen, then click
“Manage Class.”
Under “Image,” click the “Browse…” button.
Select the image you wish to upload. It
must be no more than 75K in size, then
click Open.
Click the Save button.
Repeat these steps for each class.
Managing Class
Members & Permissions
in EDLINE
To go to a class home page, first select “My
Classes & Shortcuts” and then click the
class name.
Click the “Command Center” link on
the left side of the screen, then click
“Manage Class.”
To display the students in a class, click on
the button labeled “Members &
Permissions”.
Review settings for each student:
 Email: “No” if the account is not active or the
student/parent do not supply an email address
• Has Email: student’s home email address
• Parent Email: parent’s home email address
 Sys ID: student id number from Blackbaud.
 Type: S = Student, T = Teacher.
 Status: A = activated, U = unactivated
Click on the button labeled “Done”.
To change who can see this class please click on the
button labeled “Change Visibility”.
1. Under “Limited” select “Only members of the….”
2. Under “Limited” please uncheck Staff and Alumni.
3. Click on the button labeled “Update”.
1. Under “More Restrictive” select “Only members
of the….”
2. Uncheck Staff.
3. Click “Update”.
1. Click “Save”.
2. Repeat this process for all of your classes.
Managing EDLINE
Calendar Items
To go to a class home page, first select “My Classes
& Shortcuts” and then click the class name.
1. Click the “Edit” button on the right side
of the Calendar box.
2. Click the “Add” button at the top of the screen.

3. Enter a title for the event in the “Title” field. Enter
your subject and then the event title, such as
“Algebra I Test 5.”
4. Select a category from the “Category/Folder”
drop down menu. All assignments/homework,
projects, tests and quizzes MUST be correctly
categorized.
5. Under “Document Summary,” enter a brief
description of the event.
6. Enter the date of the event in the “Calendar
Date” field. If the event continues for several
days, click the “Event Recurrence” button.
EDLINE offers several options for events,
including start/end dates and recurrence
patterns. Click “Save and Return” when
finished.
OPTIONAL – Import an existing file
7. Click “Import an existing file” and the following box
appears.
8. Click Browse to find your file, click on the file name,
click open and then click Import. This file can be a
picture, a word document, an excel
spreadsheet...etc.
9. You can put a copy of this event on another
class calendar. Select these classes under
“Available Groups” by clicking them, then
clicking the “Add>>” button. The classes you
select move under “Additional Posted
Groups.”
10. When finished, click the “Save & Return”
button at the top or bottom of the screen.
11. The Calendar screen will appear with your
event. Click “Done”to return to the class
home page.
Once a calendar item has been categorized, it will
appear in the corresponding folder located under
“Content” area on the home page. Click on a folder
to view its items.
For example: if you create an item with a category
of “Test,” it will appear in the Test folder on your
class home page.
Delete an
Event
DELETE AN EVENT
1. Click the “Edit” button at the top of the
Calendar box.
2. Click the “Manage Items” button at the top
of the full class calendar page.
3. Select each event you want to delete. If
you want to delete everything on the page,
click the “Select All” link in the upper-left
corner of the list.

4. Click the Delete button under the Manage
Selected Items” section. The computer will
then prompt you: “Is it ok to delete these
items?” Click OK.
NOTE: If the event is located in more than one
location (i.e.. Homework was assigned to
multiple classes, then the homework
assignment will be removed from all classes
UNLESS you REMOVE the check mark by
“Delete documents in all locations”.

5. Click the “Done” button at the top of the
page.
6. The Calendar screen will appear with your
modified event. Click on the “Done” button
at the top of the page and you will return to
your class home page.
Modify
an Event
MODIFY AN EVENT
1. Click the “Edit” button at the top of the
Calendar box and the current calendar
month will appear.
2. Click the “Manage Items” button at the top
of the page and a list of calendar items will
appear.
3. Click the “Edit” button next to the event
you want to modify and the Modify
Document page will appear. Make any
necessary changes.

4. Click the Save button at the bottom of the
page to save your changes, or the Cancel
button if you did not make any changes.
This takes you back to a list of calendar
items.
5. Click the Done button at the top of the
page.
6. The Calendar screen will appear with your
modified event. Click the Done button at
the top of the page to return to your class
home page.
EDLINE to Easy
Grade Pro:
Loading Classes into
your Gradebook
Open Easy Grade Pro.
If Easy Grade Pro
opens to an old
grade book, click on
“Close”, then click
on “No” to avoid
making a backup.
You will be saving your Grade books to the
- W drive (W:\\clst2\grades$)
- your Division (Lower School, Middle School, Upper School)
- your name
Click on “Create a New Gradebook” and save
it to the folder under W:\your division\your
name.
Please name the file as follows:
username_gradebook 09_10 Term 1.egp
Ex: evalentine_gradebook 09_10 Term 1.egp
To retrieve your
class information
from EDLINE, click
“Edline Class Data
Sync”
Enter your
EDLINE
screen name
and password.
Click on “Click here to begin Class
Data Sync Download.”
You will be asked to Open or Save a
file. Please click on “Open”.
Click on the first class listed under the heading
Class ID, then click on “Import to New Class”
under the heading Classes in Gradebook.
Next, click the Import button at the bottom of the
window.
Select Term 1 and click OK.
The Import Results screen appears.
Click on Done. Repeat the import
process until all your classes are
loaded.
EDLINE to Easy
Grade Pro: Keeping
Your Class List Upto-Date
Start Easy Grade Pro. Your
current-term gradebook opens
automatically.
Click ‘File,” then click “Internet”.
Click on the Edline tab
then click “Class
(Student) Data Sync”.
To retrieve your
class information
from EDLINE, click
“Edline Class Data
Sync”
Enter your
EDLINE
screen name
and password.
Click on “Click here to begin Class
Data Sync Download.”
You will be asked to Open or Save a
file. Please click on “Open”.
Please read & follow the directions circled above for each class you
want to Import/Sync.
If you have already imported a class do NOT choose “Import New
Class”. Instead choose a class on the right hand side that matches
the class you choose on the left hand side. This sync will only update
your class with those students that have been added or deleted.
“Import Results”
appear for the
class you have
chosen sync.
Click on “Done”.
When you have
finished the Data
Sync for each
class click
“Done”.

Score Categories (Weighting)
1. First, open Easy Grade Pro
2. Make sure you are on the first class in
your grade book.
3. Click Edit.
4. Click Class Options. The Class
Options Term 1 window appears.
Click the tab labeled Scale.

1. Under Minimum% for A+ change 97 to 98.
2. PCA does not have a D on the grading scale. Under Grades
in Scale click on the blue arrow for #10. A pop up window
appears:
3. Click Delete this row.

1. Click on the tab labeled Round.
2. Click on Whole Number
3. Click on Done
1. Click the tab labeled Category.
2. Under Category Name, enter:
Test, Quiz, Homework (see Team
Leader/Dept Head for additional information)
3. Under Weight, enter the correct percentage.
4. Click Done
1. From the menu, click Tool.
2. Click Copy.
3. Click Class Options and the
Copy Class Data box will appear.
1. In the “Class to Copy FROM” window, select the
first class in your gradebook.
2. Select the following class options to copy: Grading
Scale, Rounding Setting, and Score Categories.
3. In the “Classes to Copy TO” window, select your
remaining classes.
4. Click the Copy button.
1. Click on Yes.
2. Check the Grading Scales,
Rounding and Categories for the
classes you just changed.
Note: you can also set up a calendar
for your first class, and copy it in the
same way.
Easy Grade Pro to
EDLINE:
Uploading Student
Grades
Open Easy Grade Pro.
From the menu, choose
File, then choose
Internet…
Click the Edline
tab, then choose
Single-class
Edline Reports
Be sure that your
name is entered in
the “Teacher” field,
then click Next.
Make sure the Report/Folder Name
value is “Student Report Qtr1”
Click Upload.
Enter your screen name and
password for EDLINE.
When the upload completes, you will
receive a results message. Click OK.
Exit EDLINE, and repeat this process until
the student report for each class has been
uploaded.
It is possible to delete a student report
uploaded in error or with the wrong report
name. In EDLINE, go to the class home
page, and click the Edit button at the top
of the Contents window.
Click the selection box next to the report
that you want to delete, then press Delete.
Click OK; then click Done.
