Examples of such activity are as follows: Adds – Strategic new product launches or program offerings, including promotions Changes – Strategic product or program price changes Deletes – Strategic “end of life” product discontinuations All information relating to error corrections will be communicated through the standard Operations Communication (OpsComm) process, available solely on the Microsoft Readiness App. Examples of such activity are as follows: Adds – Correcting missing SKUs Changes – Correcting erroneous pricing Deletes – Correcting erroneous extra SKUs To access the latest OpsComm content, please download the Microsoft Readiness App from either of the below links, depending on your operating system: Windows 8/8.1: http://aka.ms/win8readinessapp Windows 7/Vista/XP: http://aka.ms/readinessapp New Products And/Or Versions Launching Windows 10 Windows 10 is the first step to an era of more personal computing. This vision framed our work on Windows 10, where we are moving Windows from its heritage of enabling a single device – the PC – to a world that is more mobile, natural and grounded in trust. We believe your experiences should be mobile – not just your devices. Technology should be out of the way and your apps, services and content should move with you across devices, seamlessly and easily. In our connected and transparent world, we know that people care deeply about privacy – and so do we. That’s why everything we do puts you in control – because you are our customer, not our product. We also believe that interacting with technology should be as natural as interacting with people – using voice, pen, gestures and even gaze for the right interaction, in the right way, at the right time. With this release, Identity Manager moves under the Microsoft brand and the FIM 2010 R2 CAL offerings are discontinued. Note: FIM 2010 R2 External Connector (EC) offerings will be similarly discontinued with the availability of the MIM 2016 EC licenses that will launch with the September 1, 2015 price list publication. If you are already an AADP subscriber (or EMS or ECS subscriber), you automatically get rights to MIM 2016 now like you previously did with FIM 2010 R2. As with the prior version FIM 2010 R2 offering, MIM 2016 CAL and EC licenses are being offered as additive licenses to applicable Windows Server 2012 R2 base CAL and/or EC licenses, meaning the server software rights come with the Windows Server server license (any edition). In today’s cloud-first, mobile-first world, our customers are looking to address pressing challenges such as security and ease of manageability through their enterprise solutions. They’re also looking for more flexible ways to purchase these solutions as they transition to the cloud. The following paragraphs summarize, in advance of price list previews, new product and licensing changes coming over the next several months that address these challenges. Licensing and Pricing Changes Enterprise Client Access License Suite & Enterprise Mobility Suite ATA rights will be included in the Enterprise CAL Suite (ECAL), Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) and Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) beginning August 1, 2015. Existing ECAL and EMS Licenses with active Software Assurance as of August 1, 2015 will automatically include ATA rights. ECS will get enhanced IT manageability, as it will include the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) as part of Windows Software Assurance from August 1, 2015. Bridge CALs Microsoft is simplifying Bridge CAL licenses to make it easier for customers to transition to the cloud from on-premises CALs. Bridge CALs will only be available as a subscription, on a per user basis from August 1, 2015. This brings the licensing of Bridge CALs in line with the licensing for Office 365 and EMS User Subscription Licenses that they’re purchased for. Customers will continue to get all of the value they get currently from Bridge CALs and additional flexibility in the Enterprise Agreement from the subscription. ATA rights will be included in the ECAL Bridge for Office 365 beginning August 1, 2015. Existing ECAL Bridge for Office 365 licenses with active Software Assurance as of August 1, 2015 will automatically include ATA rights. Pricing changes With the additional value the above changes bring, pricing for EMS, ECS and Bridge CALs has been adjusted. The licensing and product changes will take effect as of August 1, 2015 and will be in conjunction with the 13% increase in user CAL prices that Microsoft already announced in November, 2014. This user CAL adjustment is attributed to the increase in value of per user licensing due to device growth trends. Microsoft continues to invest in supporting multidevice, cross-platform productivity scenarios that increase the number of ways users access on-premises servers licensed with CAL Suites. Other price adjustments will take effect on either August 1 or September 1, 2015, depending on the product and program. Customers will continue to have the option to license CAL Suites with the choice of per-user or per-device, and device CALs will see no change in pricing. Primary Price Changes in August 2015* 1. User CAL pricing a. What: 13% increase over existing User CAL pricing, 30% over Device CAL pricing 10 b. Why: The value of per user licensing has increased given the device growth trends and Microsoft’s continued investments to support multi-device, cross-platform productivity scenarios. c. When: August 1, 2015 d. Where: EA/EAS, Open, OV/OVS, MPSA, Select/Select Plus e. Downstream pricing Impacts: MSU Bridge pricing, OLS Add-on Pricing 2. Windows 10 pricing a. What: MDOP will now be available to all new and renewing SA customers as part of the Windows 10 release. Standalone SA SKUs will show ~11%-13% increase for Windows SA Per User and 18% for Windows Enterprise to reflect this feature change. b. Why: Windows 10 Enterprise SA and Windows SA Per User now include MDOP. c. When: August 1, 2015 d. Where: EA/EAS, Open/OV/OVS, Select/Select Plus, MPSA e. Downstream pricing impacts: Windows SA Per User Add-on and Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) pricing impacts. 3. Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) USL pricing a. What: EMS From SA USL will increase in price by 4%, Non-SA/Full USL increases 15% b. Why: All EMS customers get rights to Advanced Threat Analytics (ATA) functionality. c. When: August 1, 2015 d. Where: EA/EAS, MPSA, Open/OV/OVS e. Downstream pricing impacts: EMS Add-on pricing and Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) add-on pricing 4. Bridge CAL pricing a. What: Pricing is primarily impacted by the shift to per user licensing. User Bridge pricing results in uplifts of approximately 8-15% uplift and Device Bridges will be uplifted 30%+ over current SA pricing due to the User CAL uplifts and elimination of the Device Bridges. Actual uplifts will vary based on individual customer scenarios. b. Why: Simplifying licensing rules for OLS and Bridge CALs by providing true per user licensing models for customers purchasing O365 and EMS. c. When: August 1, 2015 d. Where: EA/EAS e. Downstream pricing impacts: OLS add-on pricing, ECS add-on pricing Secondary Pricing Impacts of the Primary Changes* 5. Professional and Enterprise Desktop pricing a. What: Desktop pricing is increasing by approximately 3% due to the inclusion of MDOP as part of the changes to Windows pricing. b. Why: Desktop pricing impacted due to Windows 10 changes and the inclusion of MDOP. c. When: August 1, 2015 d. Where: EA/EAS e. Downstream pricing impacts: None Add-on Refresher Add-ons enable hybrid customer scenarios through enablement of cloud services while retaining the licensing security of their traditional on premise licenses and active Software Assurance. As a result of enabling hybrid scenarios, Add-ons are calculated based on the price of the targeted cloud service they are “adding on”, as well as a credit for the ongoing underlying SA payments. This credit is reflected in the price of the Add-on. Because Add-ons are a calculation, small changes in pricing inputs (User CAL SA, OLS USL, and Bridge CALs) can result in what appears to be significant percentage (relative) changes in price. The next section provides details for the changes in Add-on pricing as a result of changes to the calculation inputs. 11 6. Office 365 Add-on pricing a. What: Pricing changes will range from -18% to +16% in USD. These change percentages will vary by market for non-USD pricing. b. Why: The Office 365 Add-ons are impacted by the changes to User CAL SA pricing and the pricing impact related to the shift to per user Bridge CALs. c. When: August 1 for MPSA, OV/OVS1 and September 1, 2015 for EA/EAS d. Where: EA/EAS, MPSA, OV/OVS1 e. Downstream pricing impacts: Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) Add-on pricing 7. Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) Add-on pricing a. What: Core CAL User Add-on +27%, Enterprise CAL User Add-on 0%, EMS Core CAL Device Add-on +27% and the Enterprise CAL Device Add-on +7%. Non-USD change amounts will vary For MPSA, Add-on pricing will be reduced (~27%) to correct an error on the price list where the pricing was incorrectly shown as being too high. b. Why: Just as the Office 365 Add-ons, the EMS Add-ons are impacted by the increase in the EMS USL due to the new rights to ATA, the changes to User CAL SA pricing and the shift to per user Bridge CALs. The Core CAL Add-ons are also impacted due to the shift from a single SKU/Price Add-on price for ECAL & Core CAL to differentiated pricing for Device vs. User and Core CAL vs. ECAL. c. When: August 1 for MPSA, Open, OV/OVS and September 1, 2015 for EA/EAS d. Where: EA/EAS, MPSA, Open, OV/OVS e. Downstream pricing impacts: ECS Add-on pricing 8. Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS) USL and Add-on pricing a. What: ECS Add-on price changes will range from -7% to +10% and the ECS USL changes range from +3% to +5%. b. When: August 1, 2015 for the USLs and September 1, 2015 for Add-ons c. Where: EA/EAS, MPSA (when available) d. Why: Inclusion of additional functionality in the ECS Components. Pricing is impacted by the inclusion of ATA with EMS and MDOP as part of Windows SA Per User. e. Downstream pricing impacts: None *Final pricing may vary and will be available as part of the standard 30-day price list preview. 1 Pricing for OV/OVS will change in some geographies based on local currency.
