Criteria and Procedure for Identification

All new incoming students in grades K-5 are given the DRA in order
to determine current reading level.

The previous year’s Spring DRA scores are reviewed to determine
which students are reading below grade level.

Conversations occur with the classroom teachers to see if they
concur.

All available pertinent assessments are reviewed, including
students’ academic history.

We use the NWEA data in grades 3-8

Student progress is monitored all year long and students are moved
in and out of the program as deemed necessary.


Reinforced the K-2 Literacy Block with enough staffing to keep
groups small (RTI)

Facilitate use of Lexia (progress monitoring – RTI)

Proctoring assessments and/or providing coverage for teachers
so they can proctor

Additional Needs

To maintain the current staff into another year

Provide services to the high school

Currently the four teachers share one space, which can seem
a little chaotic at times, so more teaching space would be
nice

Also because we have come together in one room we lost our
full computer lab, so having that functioning again at its full
would help testing and computer intervention time run more
smoothly
