Data Loading in the Shared Bib Environment
Status Update
April 1, 2013
1. Loading batch records at FLVC
(a) SUL-wide Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) project with Coutts
Status: Coutts and the Implementation Team for the statewide SUS DDA project have identified
publishers that will participate in the project. Coutts has given us the estimated go-live date of
August 1st, 2013.
(b) Serials Solutions and Ex Libris’ MARCit!

Serials Solutions ebooks (UF)
Status: FLVC will be loading the ebook records (full file replacement and 5 monthly updates)
prior to working on records which have non-UF holdings. A loader for ebooks has been
approved. Records are in process of being loaded.
The Timeline is on the Shared Bib Data Loading wiki page.

MARCit! (USF)
Status:
We are continuing to work with USF on adjustments to their MARCit! profiles, identifying
record sets for clean-up, mapping out processing strategies for the clean-up and developing
the loaders to process a new set of MARCit! records. We have loaded a sample of MARCit!
records for USF to review. We are testing the global changes for clean-up. The updated
timeline for loading the MARCit! ejournal records is on the
Shared Bib Data Loading wiki page.
(c) Marcive Government Document records
Status: Work continues on loading the July 2012 Marcive GPO records into Production once
a library approves its test load. GenLoad is currently being used for these loads. The July
2012 records were loaded into Production for FGCU on March 11, UF on March 12, UWF on
March 15, FAU on March 18, UCF on March 20. The FAMU test load has been approved for
loading into Production. The USF test load is awaiting library approval. Progress is being
made on the FIU load specs.
We have finished scripting for the Aleph process and begun testing the August 2012 loads in
Test for seven universities (FAMU, FAU, FGCU, UCF, UF, USF and UWF). After FIU approves
their loading specs, we will include them as well. We will coordinate with the libraries on
how to review the loads. Once approved, we will begin loading all the monthly loads into
FLVC 04/08/13
Production during April, and load the current April 2013 load in as a routine monthly load
into Production.
UNF and NCF will add their holdings manually to the Marcive records. FSU is interested
only in records for e-docs; the e-doc-only dataload project is the next phase after the
current project.
The detailed timeline is available on the Shared Bib wiki:
