Homework Philosophy



Homework is meant to be a review and to provide additional
practice of skills taught in class.
Each student should be able to complete the homework
independently with little or no help…However, it is always
beneficial for a parent to check directions, check over
completion, and provide immediate feedback and guidance on
each assignment.
Homework will be assigned nightly and will consist of ….
Homework

night or 80 minutes per week . Read additional books after completing A.R. book.
Remember to bring A.R. book to school EVERY day!


(Due the following day.)
 Math Facts- Nightly math facts.
(Due the following day.)
 Spelling- 2 spelling practices a week.







Two library books each week. At least one MUST be an A.R. book.
A.R. levels are determined by a computer reading/vocabulary test. Levels
are adjusted as needed!!
Read A.R. book two to three times, discuss it with a parent, and complete
an A.R. test before returning it to the library.
A.R. tests can be taken at multiple times throughout the day.
Students should be able to complete AT LEAST 1 A.R. test each week.
Both library books MUST be brought to school and brought home EVERY
day.
School A.R. books are marked on the spine of each book. Students may
take A.R. tests on any book that is an A.R. book….this means public library
books, personal books, and classroom books may be used as additional A.R.
books.
Please visit this website to check A.R. levels and sign up for A.R. Home
