ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Carbon Fiber Body for the Concordia SAE Supermileage team (Bombardier Aerospace, Global Vision Inc.)
 Designed and manufactured an aerodynamic and fuel efficient vehicle body using pre-impregnated carbon
fiber composite materials
 Performed, four point bending tests (ASTM 7264, ASTM 7250) to determine flexural property of the
honeycomb reinforced composite shell
 Performed FEA analysis (ANSYS) and wind tunnel experiments to verify the CFD simulations
 Worked with sophisticated resin systems and used industrial autoclave sponsored by Composite Atlantic
for curing
 Reduced the weight of the vehicle body more than 70% and won SAE International World Congress student
exhibit award-2014, Michigan
Quality checks to relieve the stress of the springs (Pyromaitre ovens)
 Implemented six sigma for stress relieving operation of springs to improve process efficiency
 Performed statistical process chart (SPC) using control charts to predict head range, soak time
 Used analytical tools such as hypothesis test, process capability, root cause analysis and QFD
Determination of Cutting Parameters during Drilling of GFRP
 Performed vertical milling and drilling at different rates on the glass fiber reinforced polymer using the
CNC vertical machining center
