Intense Lighting Wins Recognition for Three Products in the 2014
Next Generation Luminaires Awards
Company Reaches Milestone By Earning Recognition Status Five Years in a Row
(ANAHEIM, CA – September 17, 2014) – Intense Lighting, a solutions-based developer
and manufacturer of top quality LED specification grade lighting products is proud to
announce that three of its recently launched luminaires have earned “Recognition”
status in the 2014 Next Generation Luminaires Awards. These include the Gravity™ High
Lumen Downlight, MX Recessed Multiples and the MX Track Lighting system.
The NGL Awards are sponsored by three organizations--the U.S. Department of Energy,
the International Association of Lighting Designers, and the Illuminating Engineering
Society (IES) of North America. A small group of 10 prestigious industry leaders are
nominated to be part of the judging panel that looks at performance, production
readiness, practicality and ease of serviceability for each product submission. The judges
care about suitability and quality, not just energy efficiency. Out of 266 products that
were proposed for submissions to the NGL Indoor competition, only 153 made it to the
judging phase with market-ready samples and complete documentation. Out of those,
the judges identified 57 products as Recognized, meaning they were considered worthy
of specification in the application for which they were designed.
“Any product that earns the recognition of the NGL judges has to be pretty special,” says
DOE Solid-State Lighting Program Manager Jim Broderick. “They’re a tough audience –
impossible to fool and hard to please.”

The first Recognized product is the GRAVITY™ High Lumen Downlight. Designed for
general or accent illumination in areas with ceiling heights ranging from 12’ to 100’, the
GRAVITY™ High Lumen LED Downlight delivers up to 7500lm. With its field-serviceable
LED light engine, optics, and driver (all accessible from above or below the ceiling),
GRAVITY™ not only boasts dynamic lighting opportunities with energy savings, but also
reduces maintenance costs and long-term costs of ownership. GRAVITY™ offers
multiple control options including 0-10V dimming, Dali and DMX512. Utilizing the latest
technology, GRAVITY™ now features 1% or 0.1% flicker-free dimming. The GRAVITY™
line comes in 6” or 8” round/square downlight or adjustable, and cylinder.
The second and third products to be Recognized are the MX Track and MX Recessed
Multiples. The highly adaptable MX Series of luminaires blends a minimally intrusive
profile with design flexibility, high performance and is optimized for the exacting
demands of the retail and hospitality environments. An ideal replacement for 20W
CMH or high-wattage MR16’s, the MX family integrates high performance TIR optics
available in 12° spot, 24° narrow flood, or 36° flood. The MX Track Series is available
with a vertical or horizontal driver casing. MX Track is also available with a canopy
mount. The MX Recessed Multiple Series features a slim, linear, 4” aperture available in
one to four head configurations. Other options include trim or trimless, and recessed or
semi-recessed orientations. The MX family is offered with the 10-Year Intense LED
Limited Warranty. The MX Recessed Downlight is expected to be available by Q4 2014.
