Notes/ Questions / Comments

- Do you see this changing?

- Division S/W seems to be left behind and internet-based programs are being used more often.

4 th Group

Do you need the devices to print?

Yes. We need the ability to print student assignments.

Teachers often print straight to the copier.

Do your students need devices to print?

Yes. Students need the ability to print as well otherwise too much time for the teacher to manage.

Students too.

Do not need students to print A/R

Older students – Yes

Younger students - maybe

Yes, for emergencies / last minute copies / extra print copies

- Yes, daily to both photocopier and printer (local for 1 copy only).

- We could see living without a local printer (print only to photocopier).

- Teachers are scanning from device so less demand on photocopier scanner (Genius

Scan, World Scan).

- Paperless is getting easier but students still do need paper.

Weekly Printing

- Reports, Word documents

- completed works for posting/sharing (not all on-line)

- student-led assignments

- some students don’t have access at home

- self/peer editing in paper format

- articles for reference for reports

(can’t have laptops all the time)

How often?

Whenever they have a finished project – could be emailed or put in drop folder

Daily

Daily (for teachers)

Monthly (for students)

Where?

If it is going to a central area, we need more copiers

Centralized location that students can access.

Somewhere close to the classroom to minimize time-off task

Needs to print to one location (all to the library)

- when not easy to access, students will print less which is better
